Why is my GE Monogram, model zfsb26dnd SS, emitting an odor from the front bottom behind the base grill. The air blowing from underneath produces the smell when the fan is operating. The odor appears
I have checked for leaks on the inside and out, rotting food, cleaned the interior on both sides of the side by side with bleach and soap. I cleaned the door gaskets and ice dispenser. I even had a technician come and they did not find anything. However, he did remove the back cover and wiped away a lot of dust off the parts. The make and model is GE Monogram zfsb26dnd SS.

You changed the main control board---is that the main mother board on the outside back wall of the refrigerator???? If not then the mother board may need changed. Part number WR55X10942. Just about every part of the refrigerator operation runs through that board. If you did change that already I would look for possibly a bad wiring connection to the dispenser system. There is usually wiring and plugs going through the hinge area of the door with the dispenser in it. some are at the top hinge some at the bottom depending on model number.
The coil underneath the refrigerator, called the condenser coil, is probably blocked with dirt. This causes undue heat on that coil and the dirt stinks. The condenser coil must be cleaned thoroughly.
Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.

Depending on the model the tray may or may not be removable.
Try removing the front grille located below the doors close to the floor, typically this will pull off with a little force on ends. The pan if accessible should be on the left or center. If it is not removable you may be able to put some cleaner into the pan from the front.
If it is not accessible from the front you will need to roll the frig out and remove the back panel once you unplug the power cord. The panel on the rear near the bottom may look like a piece of cardboard but is important to put back.
This is a sign of a short and should be looked at immediately. A smell like that is a sign of something burning. I could be the start relay and start capacitor with overload. But I would not sleep with the possibility of a fire. I will look over your model and see if I can find what this could be, Sea Breeze
