Toshiba REGZA won't play DVD. Shows "disc loading" then goes to wide screen mode, but then ejects the disc. Whats up?

Cannot get the DVD to work. Takes disc in, displays "loading disc" for several seconds, then goes to wide screen white screen showing 1080 pix mode, then just ejects disc. Never even starts to play the movie.

Sounds like the laser pickup unit to the DVD player is faulty. Contact any service technician to replace it. The disc mechanism should be taken out of it to replace this part.

SOURCE: Two DVD's stuck in Toshiba Regza with built-in DVD player

If you can find a piece of stiff wire, put a small 90 degree bend onto one end and try to hook the edge or middle of the DVD drawer and pull out the drawer. It will resist a bit but should come out.

Ferguson TV DVD fault - won't play discs

Check its loading mechanism for proper disc loading. Replace the loading belt first and check. If it does not help you, insert a cleaning disc into it. If the fault is with accumulated dust or dirt on the laser pick up lens, it will be cleared out. If not, replace the laser pickup unit.

  1. Press the Media Eject key at the top-right corner of the keyboard.
  2. If that doesn't work, drag the disc's icon to the Trash.
  3. If that doesn't work, restart the computer, then hold down the mouse button or trackpad button while the computer is starting up, until the disc is ejected.
To restart, choose Restart from the Apple menu.

I have Toshiba Regza 32 with DVD and the disk got struck. It doesnt play or eject. But you can hear the DVD is on, is working. The TV works no problem. How I can ejects the disc from the DVD. Please help!...

Hello
As you feel DVD is woking, that is spinning inside, and there is no picture at all, the fault will be with its defective Laser Pickup Unit. It is a common fault , that this unit bcome damaged. No special rason can be pointed out for that. Just put a cleaning disc into the player, and play it for two or three times. If the fault is due to dust or dirt accumulation to its pick up lens, it will be alright after this procedure. If it does not help, there is no other way than replacing the Laser Picup Unit, with same type and number. OK.

check the type of discs that are recognized with your dvd player. Some machines recognize dvdr- some dvdr+ some dvdrw+/- you may be using the wrong formated type of disc.Look at disc and see what type it is in the ring surrounding the hole especially if it is a copy

Dvd player wont play

I found this on the PROSCAN website under customer support manuals. The website is www.oncorpus.com.I hope this information helps you with your problem. IMPORTANT THE LABEL SIDE OF THE DVD MUST FACE THE BACK SIDE OF THE TELEVISION 1. Press the ‘INPUT’ button to select ‘DVD’ mode, if no disc is inserted yet, the display shows ‘No Disc’.
2.Insert a DVD with the printed side facing towards the rear of the TV/DVD Player (see below)
3.The TV will first display ‘Loading’, then change to ‘DVD-video’. Most DVDs will show some preliminary
information then stop at a main menu screen.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play it directly. Or press the DVD-MENU button to access the disc menu during
playback.
5.Use the direction button on the remote control to select the desired option. Press ENTER to select the
option or press the ► button. Playback will now commence.
6.After playback, press the EJECT button on remote control or EJECT button on TV/DVD to remove the
disc.
Note: No function‘’ will sometimes appear on the screen after a button is pressed. This indicates that the
function is not supported at the current time.
