How do I use the self cleaning functions - kitchenaid oven

I am a bit late on this question, but just ended up in a rabbit hole of unanswered Kitchenaid questions

The self cleaning features only serves to keep manufacturers in steady sales of parts. Quite simply the oven can only take those temperatures a few times until they break. The heat burns out elements, damages fans, door locks and worst of all damages control boards which are not far enough from the heat source. You problem sounds like the walls of the oven have buckled in the heat so the racks no longer fit. Too late now, but you should have taken Kitchenaid to court, the oven was not fit for purpose under the description they used to sell it to you.

Never Ever use the self clean feature. We see damage here every couple of weeks. The worst was a burned control board on an oven that all parts were obsolete, so the self clean cost a thousand bucks!

You have a bad fan and your probably blew the high-limit in the back of the unit. If this is a built in oven, it's not an extremely simple fix. If it's a stand alone range, you probably broke a heating element during the clean. If its gas, you would have a bad ignitor.

You're right about not using the self clean option. Your oven gets up to over 800 degrees when you use that feature. You can choose to simply keep your oven wiped out, rather than self clean it. The timer is most likely going out if the "stop" button doesn't work after cleaning. Please call or email us and we will be sure toget the right part for you. I hope this solves your problem. Ella

Can you describe the symptoms in a little more detail? Do you get the infamous F1 error on the display? Certainly the fuse is a good first check, it provides current for the heating elements but not the control circuit. If the oven control lights up, and the relays click when you try to bake ... good chance it's the fuse.

Please call directly to KitchenAid/Whirpool and speak to the 'executive management team' - when I spoke to them they said this wasnt a common problem, they were not aware of the fault.. EVERYONE with this fault please call again.

Replacing the fuse each or not using the self clean function is not a fix!

KitchenAid KEBC107KSS does not heat hot enough and does not heat evenly. When the temperature is dialed higher, it burns the cookies. When the convection fan is on, it has a 'cooling effect' so the temperature never reaches the proper level. Is this problem repairable? Or is this a thermostat issue? Thank you for your help!
