Most TVs have manual buttons on them for changing channels. My Sony TV has the buttons on the top of the TV screen.

SOURCE: remote code

You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.

  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

Hope that helps!

make sure that you're not using a cable box. then when you do the channel scan, make sure that you pick cable instead of antena.

Apex digital250A digita tv converterl

The outside antenna gets threaded onto the RF connector that says antenna in. Then either connect another RF cable to the tv and select ch 3 or 4 (switch on back of box) or use the yellow, red and white cable to the tv. If you used the three cables use the remote to select the input you used. Just advance the channels until you find the picture. If you used the RF cable, just tune to channel 3 or 4 whichever you used. Now do a channel scan with the remote that came with the converter. Once that is done you will have to use that same remote to change digital channels.

Looking for remote control code for Phillips/Verizon that works with the LD 4088

This is a solution for DISH NETWORK users that have the remote that comes with the system.

I just purchased my television yesterday and I did the same, as I spent about 3 hours searching online, and found about 600 codes to try, but ultimately, I didn't want to spend a month programming my remote. I ended up calling APEX the company and they gave me three codes: 591, 594, 11531. 591 didn't work for my tv, and 11531 is five digits meant for direct tv users, but 594 worked on my dish remote that came with the dish system. Hope this helps everyone, try the codes for yourself, you don't need to buy a new remote. I was told if these codes didn't work that you would have to call your cable provider to get the additional codes for your remote. The number I called and spoke directly with an APEX Representative was 866-427-3946.

Comcast remote will not program to operate either my TV or my new blue ray dvd. the blue fray dvd is a SONY and the TV is an APEX ld4088.... The tv company apex says that the tv is too new for the comcast...

this is not a rare problem, the comcast remotes are not only very hard to program, but are even harder to reprogram! you best bet would be to get a universal remote that is rated to work with your comcast box, as well as your tv's...if you get one of the $4 remotes it will not work on the newer tv's. you will have to buy a med to top end remote...or for now just use the factory remotes.

Our direct tv remote won't work with this tv.. Apex & Direct have given us 7 codes, none work.

For the Apex 4088, choose Astar brand. Enter code: 11531.
    If this doesn't work, 11548 or 11738

    Good Luck!

I cannot program my comcast control for an APEX LCD HDTV LD4088, i have tried all codes lited.

I just spoke with a rep at Apex about the comcast code for the LD4088 TV. I was told to call 1(800)284-8828 M-F for specific customer service for this TV and that if they cannot help us, the TV may be so new that we may have to wait for the next generation Comcast remote in order to control our TV with a comcast remote. Frustrating. Isn't it?

Tv will not program in digital signals; only anolog from direct tv box

Any TV hooked up to a cable or satellite box can only "see" one channel...the set-top box (STB) converts the channel you are watching to (usually) Ch. 3 or 4. With cable you can split the input if your TV has 2 RF inputs, with a dish that won't work.

That's why the TV stays on Ch 3 and the STB changes to whatever you want to watch.
