Try to unplug power from set for a while and plug back to reboot--immediately delete that channel from the set's memory as it may contain signal that is causing this.
Also look to see if the set has a feature to lock out the buttons and or the remote control---a few do.
Most likely something in the signal for that set caused the set to lock up.
Hi, have you tried pressing the TV button that is under the On/Off button on top right hand side of remote control? Some times its possible to accidently press the DVD or VCR controls and this by-passes the TV as a remote? Another cause can be a poor or low battery in the remote itself. If you have no luck let me know & we can try some more things, however, I have heard that The On/Off Switch on the TV can be a problem. Goodluck, Jon..
I had the same problem. Found the fix in this document STR-K880 service manual On the amp, while powered off: "While depressing the INPUT MODE button, press the POWER button to turn on the main power." You may need to do this more than once. This switches command mode between AV1 and AV2.
Have the remote tested----our shop uses a tester--if remote is bad we usually can fix it for 10 dollars or less.
A digital camera with a LCD display can also be used in a dark room--remote pointed at it and buttons pressed---camera display will flash faintly in response.
Failing that try to locate a replacement remote (good luck with this brand).
If the red light won't come on it is not getting power.First, try plugging it in to a different outlet,or unplug one of the gadgets you know is working and plug the tv in there. You are simply switching. If you know that there is power coming from the outlet and it still won't come on then you'll have to check the cord;don't go much farther than that without expert help.
TV won't turn on • Press the TV button. Make sure the TV is plugged in.• Check the wall receptacle (or extension cord) to make sure it is "live" by plugging in something else.• Something might be wrong with your remote control. Press the POWER button on the front of the TV. If the TV turns on, check the remote control solutions on page 26.• The front panel controls may be locked (disabled). Use the remote control to unlock the front panel controls by selecting the Lock Fr. Panel in the PARENTAL CONTROL menu and press OK (box won't have check mark).Buttons don't work • If you're using the remote control, press the TV button first to make sure the remote is in TV mode.• The front panel controls may be locked (disabled). Use the remote control to unlock the front panel controls by selecting the Lock Fr. Panel in the PARENTAL CONTROL menu and press OK (box won't have check mark).• Unplug the TV for two minutes and then plug it back in. Turn the TV on and try again.TV turns off unexpectedly • Sleep timer might have been activated. Go to page 24 for instructions.• KidPass might have been activated. Go to page 21 for instructions.• Wake-Up timer turned on the TV and no remote or front panel buttons were pressed for two hours.• Electronic protection circuit may have been activated because of a power surge. Wait 30 seconds and then turn on again. If this happens frequently, the voltage in your house may be abnormally high or low. • Unplug TV. Wait five minutes. Plug it in again.
It is possible that when the Power supply failed the MEMORY WAS ERASED and so the programs that were memorised on the TV was lost.
Remove the power plug and push down all the controls to drain off residual voltage from the processor to allow it to reset. Now switch the TV after few hours and if there is no result or response from the remote the microporcessor / memory is faulty.

Hi
If the set doesn't power ON, what is the use with a remote control? If it power ON properly, the power indicator light at its front panel will light up. Look for this. If it doesn't, make sure that you have got a set which has to be repaired. If it does power up, just get a remote control to operate it. OK.
