When air conditioner is running it constantly flips though all the modes what part on its own what part do I need to correct this problem?
It sounds like the inferred remote receiver on the unit is picking up interference put your hand over the spot on the front of the unit where it receives the infered

Generally all the symbols on each unit are the same. The snowflake does cooling, the sun does heating, the fan does fan only mode, the water droplet does dehumidify and the arrows means automatic mode. The increasing bars refers to the fan speed.

After changing the batteries you have to depress the RST button and if the remote has the abcd slide switch ensure it is set to A.
