SOURCE: I was using my Delta TS220LS table saw and it quit running.

The schematic for this saw which you can see here:

http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/delta/TS220LS

shows a circuit breaker associated with the motor. I do not know exactly where it is, you must find it and re-set it, problem solved.

SOURCE: saw will not run

I had the same problem several months ago with a craftsman (shut down during a long rip), and the reset switch had tripped but did not actually pop out. I tested everything in the line between the power supply and the motor, and found out that the reset switch was not conducting. I was able to reset it manually before re-installing it into the saw, and it's been fine ever since. I'd test that before you start pulling the motor out, it would be a much easier fix if the switch was just sticking.

SOURCE: Delta Table Saw stopped running

I have a table saw that the cord from the motor plugs into the the back of the on/off switch. I yours is configured like that, unplug the motor cord from the back of the switch and plug it in to the wall and see if the motor will run. If so replace the switch.

I would check to see that ID of the blade arbor matches the OD of the motor arbor, and you are not missing an adapter ring. Then I would get some acetone and a wire brush clean all surfaces where the blade seats. This is also good practice for Jacobs chucks on drills, that allow the drill bits to spin.

I have a delta contractors table saw that wont start. It has a Marathon Electric Motor 62-044 that hangs off the back. It has capacitors rather than brushes. When you turn on the swithch it does nothing. I...

Most likely to quit suddenly is the switch.
My table saw switch broke recently, and at first I thought it was the motor.
Over the years I remember seeing table saws fitted with a handy box and ordinary light switch to replace the table saw switch.
Check for power at motor: Sometimes the wire connection from switch has access box on the motor where you can get in and check for power.

My saw will start. It has always run quite well,

If it hums but doesn't turn it is almost certainly the starter capacitor which is fairly easy and cheap to replace . Usually a metal or plastic cylindrical object attached to the motor or sometimes inside the switch housing. Buy a replacement from Electronics store or from the makers of the machine.
If it does not hum and you have checked fuses then the switch is probably the trouble and switcheds dont like dusty environments at the best of times.

Sounds like you may have overheated the motor. I'm surprised the overload on the motor didn't trip first. With this overheating, the windings in the motor have basically shorted out to ground. This is why your breaker is tripping. Rewinding the motor is no longer the option these days. You can try going online to www.searspartsdirect.com

Does not turn on. The wood was at an angle and jammed when it quit working

Hello. I recommend that you check your circuit breaker or fuse which is in the house panel and feeds the outlet that your saw is plugged into.
I believe that you will find that you solution is to reset the breaker or change the fuse.
