Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie Dell 966) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Try these steps:

1. Try to print a test page in the Printer Properties window. If it prints ok, then maybe Word is the problem. You may have specified some page parameter (e.g. margins, length, etc.) that was out of range.

2. Try the printer on another pc.

Well, Dell doesn't list a Mac driver for that printer on their website, so I don't believe it's Mac compatible

SOURCE: The drive belt on the inkjet carriage came off it's wheels.

You'll have to disassemble the printer, remove the bottom of the printer and turn it upside down to where the belt and underside of the ink carriage (where ink comes out) is exposed. Take the closest loop of the belt and insert it around the plastic piece attached to the carriage [see image]. Then reassemble the printer. If you aren't good at taking things apart and re-assembling them you may have a hard time with this. Also, you may severely damage your printer if you break something mechanical or electronic in the process. Don't blame me.
