SOURCE: Freezer part doesn't freeze door was part open for hours

the coil inside of the freezer is probebly still frozen up with ice. Take a shop vac and open the freezer side after shutting the unit off and blow the air from the shop vac into the vents that are on the back side of the freezer until you can feel good air flow out of the very bottom of the freeezer. You can contact me and I will assist you if you need more help.

SOURCE: Can I refreeze meat that

Sure. This is Ok. It will not harm the meat or your health. The quality of the meat will diminish, slightly, but that is all. It is perfectly safe to refreeze the meat.

SOURCE: left the freezer door open all night and morning

these fridge freezers have a damper flap which means your fridge will not cool until everything in the freezer is frozen hard again this may take up to two days depending how much you have in your freezer

SOURCE: The freezer door is not

The drawer guides have frozen up, if you cannot work it loose by shifting the door up and down (don't hang on the handle, you'll yank it off and have a broken handle and a broken head) you'll have to shut the fridge down for like an hour (maybe more). If the door was forced under this condition, you may need to make adjustments in leveling door, check your installation guide to perform the appropriate procedure.

My freezer door was left open. food partially thawed, motor making a loud clattering sound. after shutting the door, the noise stopped. it took>24 hrs for the food to refreeze

Maybe evaporator fan making noise. After leaving open for long time, there was probably significant frost build up on evaporator near fan.

Is it okay to refreeze meat

Depends on what temperature the meat got up to in that amount of time. If it got up past 40 degrees, I'd trash it.

Why can't you answer my question about thawed meat

How long was the meat out and did it reach a temp higher than 40 degrees. If so, some restaurants might call that a health code violation.

Is it safe to refreeze meat, such as venison steak after it has completely thawed?

Refreezing
Once food is thawed in the refrigerator, it is safe to refreeze it without cooking, although there may be a loss of quality due to the moisture lost through thawing. After cooking raw foods which were previously frozen, it is safe to freeze the cooked foods. If previously cooked foods are thawed in the refrigerator, you may refreeze the unused portion. Freeze leftovers within 3-4 days. Do not refreeze any foods left outside the refrigerator longer than 2 hours; 1 hour in temperatures above 90 °F.

Is it safe to refreeze food that has thawed completely?
Once food is thawed in the refrigerator, it is safe to refreeze it without cooking,
although there may be a loss of quality due to the moisture lost through defrosting. After cooking raw foods which were previously frozen, it is safe to freeze the cooked foods. And if previously cooked foods are thawed in the refrigerator, you may refreeze the unused portion.

If you purchase previously frozen meat, poultry or fish at a retail store, you can refreeze if it has been handled properly.

Our freezer has been running nonstop to refreeze everything and now it is blowing warm air. What do we do? Unplug for a break or just shut the door?

Have u checked the thermostat setting? Set it as u usually do and if indeed the door was left open, then try shutting it down for(unplug) 10-12 Hrs and see if behaves normally after wards(set the thermostat too).

If not then have the thermostat replaced.....sodeep
