We have on the same day experienced both error 79 and error 49 on this laserjet printer that is only two months old. these errors occurred on fax receive function around our need to power off/on several times throughout the day as our printer's main problem appears to go to sleep and can't wake up and we have to power off/on to wake up the printer

49 and 79 Errors, Turn off then on
The product has experienced an internal embedded software error.
Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the product to initialize.
If you have recently installed a memory DIMM in the product, turn off the product, remove the memory DIMM, reinstall the DIMM to verify that it is seated properly, and then turn on the product.
If the error persists, contact HP. See www.hp.com/support/LJM2727 or the support flyer that came in the product box.
My advise, dont buy if you have return asap. The problem will not go away, I'm on my second printer.

We have done the off/on process and that temporarily clears up the problem. Remember the MAIN problem is need to hit the powerswitch off/on after the printer has gone to sleep and doesn't wake up when we touch any button on the printer or when a fax call attempts to come in. Having to power off/on to wake up the printer through a new initialization all the time obviously can't be the permanent solution. I note that on the hp support pages, this never wakes from sleep problem is not limited to us but is occurring for many. HP doesn't seem to yet have identified the cause and provided a fix. Have you or anyone else heard about this problem, its cause and a fix yet? Firmware? Software?
