I think that it is an 1981 the system works like this for certain ones but where it was made makes a difference if it is made in U.S.A. this is how it is dated your # is 82681563= 1st&5th digit =81 2nd-4th= the day of the year=268=September 25th 56 = the production line # of guitars made till then 3= the 3rd guitar made on September 25th 1981 so the next guitar made after yours would be 574 and the # would read like this 82681574 but remember it matters where it was made in what country I hope this helped you

You have a grounding problem. Verify your cable is good first, then open the guitar and look for broken wires. The electronic parts sit in a cavity that SHOULD be lined with CONDUCTIVE paint that acts as a shield and should have an electrical connection. You will likely find ground wires soldered to the back of the control pot cases. If you find a wire broken loose you have found the cause. There is usually a wire to the ground system from the metal parts.
