Epiphone Music - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

Sounds like perhaps a Les Paul Special II, but more detail is needed to say for sure. There was a lot of variation in their Les Paul models. Posting a photo of both sides and the headstock is best.

-Has the guitar any binding, and what colour?
-Is the back of the guitar white or all black?
-Exactly what is on the front of the headstock, 'Epiphone', the 4-diamond logo, anything else?

The controls should be setup in pairs (as long as the electronics haven't been modified. The two closest to the pickups are the volumes and the other two are the tone controls. The top knob set should be your neck pickup and the bottom set is for the bridge.

This is really a personal choice as long as the strings are made for an electric guitar there are hundreds of different kinds, it mostly has to do with the thickness of the strings and how the thinner the string the easier it is to manulipulate, you should go to a good music store and tell them what type of music you play and they will give you some choices.

The Epiphone serial number decoder, I use, supports 12 serial number formats from 25 factories. Vintage numbers from 1932 to 1970 are supported. Serial numbers from 70' and 80's era Epiphone guitars made in Japan are not supported. The reason for this is that there is no reliable documentation from this time period. This Module has been updated to work with the newer serial number formats. Looks like your Epiphone is Japanese. Try a guitar dealership or contact Epiphone for advice.

Just take the guitar with you to a local guitar music store, where you'll have to go anyhow to get the part, and the store will be happy to repair it for
the price of the part.

That serial number was used more than once.

If it has 'Made in USA' on the headstock, it was made at the Bozeman Plant, MT, USA on July 21st, 2000.

Otherwise it was made in Korea in March, 2002.

Does this guitar have a esonic 2 system, if so the other pickup is piezo pickup located under the saddle, there should be two wires coming from the pre-amp just remove the pre-amp from the body and make sure that the two wires are still plugged in and attached to the pickups, these are plugs like a small headphone style plug, just check these and the wires are held in by small wire clips, one of the wires may have came out of the clips...hope this helps I will look for a schematic for you and post it if I find one...Good Luck!!!
