A friend of mine has a Toshiba 23L1350U 23" LED TV connected to a Sony DVP-SR210P DVD player. It is connected exactly the same way I have my Toshiba 39L1350U 39" LED TV & my Pioneer DVD player connected: DVD Back Yellow - Video out Red - Audio out (Right) White - Audio out (Left) Back of TV from DVD Player Yellow cable to Green - Video Y1 Red cable to Red - Audio (Right) White cable to White - Audio (Left) The TV input is set to Video. The TV screen shows "No Video". I have tried different DVDs in an attempt to troubleshoot why the DVD won't play on the TV screen. I am at a loss as to what is wrong. Any ideas?

You need to convert avi files to dvd format before burning, otherwise the player won't recognize them. Google "avi to dvd" and you'll find a number of free or pay programs that will do the conversion for you.

Ok,
I'm not sure what you mean by digibox. Under what conditions are you able to see things in color? Is a digibox a seperate device you can get to work with the same connection as your player? If one device displays color on the same connection and another doesn't then that seems to rule out the television being the problem. Can you clarify a little more?

You may have a defective HDMI cable. If you have a friend with a working cable you could test yours on their system.

maybe the spindle motor is defective so it cannot read the disc. just bring that your dvd to sony service center to fix your dvd.

Make sure that the TV system that the DVD is outputting is NTSC, Press SYSTEM button on the remote control (is there's such button) or change the system in the DVD's menu.
