You will need to mount the camera on a tripod. then you need to set a long enough / slow enough shutter time to capture the stars faint light. the camera may even have a nightime setting. bear in mind that streetlights and other town lighting may make it difficult to get a good image of the night sky. maybe go to a state park or campground well away from city lights for a better effect.

How many shots can i make with 8 gegabytes

That depends on the picture format, resolution, and compression. RAW and TIFF images will take more space than JPEG images. Larger images will take more space than smaller images. Less compressed (better quality) pictures will take more space than more compressed (lower quality) pictures.

When I look through the scope. Everything is upside down. What should I do.

All astronomical telescopes show upside down images. This is completely normal.

Read my TIPS on my profile page -- remember no up or down in outer space! and you would need to add more "glass" to the optical train to erect the image.

I want to have the source codes for printing diamond shape asterisk in visual basic

I am pretty sure I got this as a homework assignment in programming class. If I had someone give it to me then I wouldn't be even the limited programmer I am now. That said, I will help, but I will not give you the full out answer.

  1. The number of stars and characters per line are an odd number to make the ASCii look like a diamond. For my example, the maximum number of characters per line is five.
  2. Create a variable called dia_star that will hold the spaces and stars. To figure out the number of spaces that should be put into each star line, use this formula:
number of spaces per star = ( max number of characters per line - number of stars) / 2
dia star = number of lines before star and "*"
print dia star

  1. --*--
  2. -***-
  3. *****

Why do the stars look like little lights? I kinda

The individual stars are not much fun to look at...it is the planets and nebulas that are. I have an 8 inch SCT with a computer guidence system and have looked at Saturn and Jupiter from my front yard and could see them very well. I live in the city so light pollution will not allow me to see any nebulas. I have to travel outside of the city into the mountains to be able to see things. The spectacular pictures that you see being made by people with telescopes cannot usually be seen by the naked eye through the telescope. They are made using special filters, lenses, and a camera connected to the scope. And then they will have very long exposure times(sometimes 15 hours) to gather enough of light coming from space and taking hundreds of images. Then all these images are stacked on each other and modified using software on a computer to create the images. So again the stars are not much to look at... it is the planets and nebulas that are cool. With my telescope I can see Saturn's rings and moons. I can see Jupiter's big red spot...very cool. You will need to start with a small powered lens to locate the planet you want to look at to center of eyepiece. Then work your way up in magnifiaction by changing the eyepiece and then focusing the inmage in. The eyepiece can make or break your telescope experience and most telescopes come with very limited eyepieces that are cheap and not well made. I have purchased a good set of eyepieces and they make a huge difference. If you can afford it look for a 100 degree eyepiece. They are expensive but are worth it when you look into one. Also it is very important to get your scope's collimation adjusted correctly for the best image. And get yourself a set of color filters. The filters can bring out images that you cannot see without.

Can anybody help me to solve proffesor layton puzzle 46 the biggest star

Hints:

046 The Biggest Star
-------------------------------
1. The shape you're trying to make is a five-pointed star. It's easy enough
to form a star by just connecting five points, but you're aiming to make
the biggest start possible.
Look for "the five largest objects in space" and connect them together.
2. The answer for this puzzle requires you to draw your star upside down.
3. Remember that the planet we live on is also floating in space!

Solution:

046 The Biggest Star
------------------------------------------
Tree on the horizon acts as a star. Connect the 4 big stars and
tree in a star shape. 6 lines total.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate this solution as fixya.

Tasco Space Station 800 x 70 Telescope

You are only going to be able to see the moon and several of the brighter planets-- and maybe a few bright star clusters -- like M44.

Practice focusing during the daytime on a distant object-- and only use the eyepiece with the LARGEST number written on it-- try to locate a local Astronomy club and attend one of their free star parties.

Error: "Insufficient free space on startup disk"

Nikon View requires at least twice as much free space on the startup disk as the size of the CF Card being used to transfer images. For example, to transfer images from a 1GB card you will need at least 2GB free space for temporary storage while the images are transfered. The free space must be on the hard disk that the operating system is starting up from, even if the destination for the transfer is on a different drive.
