Are you using a large image size, try smaller size file..Its a data processing problem. clear the memory of the printer. If persists it could be a lose data cable in the printer if the printer has had a knock

SOURCE: printing problem

you may have a faulty Thermal element, sounds like a cold spot in the middle of the print head is messing up your photo. If this is in warranty or is new get them to replace it

SOURCE: TROUBLE PRINTING

These are following cases for this symptom.

If the access indicator flashes in green:

The data size of the image is large and it takes longer to process it for printing. Printing will start as soon as the data processing finishes.

If the paper error indicator flashes on the LCD:

The paper is jammed. Turn off the printer and turn it on again, take out the paper tray, and then remove the jammed paper from the paper outlet. If you cannot remove the jammed paper, consult with your Sony dealer or service facility.

If no indicator is lit or flashing:

The thermal head may be overheated. Leave the printer until the head cools down and the printer resumes printing.

the printer needs a proper servicing and dust cleaning done.as there is a sensor in the printer which detects whether there is paper ,or no paper in the paper tray ,that sensor is moved from its orignal position so this problem is coming.but servicing and cleaning will help.
thanks

SOURCE: Printing only bottom half of picture.

I had the exact same issue with mine! I didn't manage to fix it, but I know exactly what the issue is. If you open the printer, you'll find a black rectangular box above where the film fits inside the printer. This black box is connected to the board above it, and is supposed to press down against the film, and then against the paper for it to print properly. There is a little bar above the rectangular box, and there should be two plastic pieces on both ends of this bar. The bar is also connected to the gears, and when the gears move the bar, the two plastic pieces coming off of the bar push the black box down. When I looked at mine, only one of the plastic pieces was doing its job; the other one was broken, and was sliding on the bar. Tried some super glue, wouldn't work. I suggest tossing it out like I did, unless it's still under warranty or you want to try fixing the plastic piece so the printer head gets pressed down all the way.

Your paper size may be samller then the size of the image you are printing. Try changing the size of the image or size of paper to match.

It only prints a 6x1"

Sony printers are masterpeices when it comes to digital printing as they produce wonderful quality images.
If you got a new printer and it does the same thing this indicates that the problem iis emanating from the software with which you use in editing the pictures before sending the print command. Somewhere along the line some adjustment must have been made to the software relating to the alignment of the picture on the printer. Once this adjustment is corrected your printer will print fine.
Printers are devices which prints what command was sent to them and do not have any intelligence to act or edit documents on their own accord.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Cannot find the driver for mac for sony DPP-FP60

Export your photo from iphoto to a usb stick. Then stick that into the printer´s usb port. Use the menu of the printer to make any last corrections (size, brightness, borders etc). Works with both RAW and JPEG. Good luck. /Anders

Sony Printer DPP-fp90

You may use your memory stick option to print. I means you shall copy your pictures to a memory stick card. Insert in into the printer. And print directly without your MAC. I use Sony DPP-FP70. It works.
