Air conditioner frezing up.clean filter and air conditioner but still ferzing up

If its doing it over night or in several hours, you need to check the thermostat. Turn it all the way to the warmest setting and listen for the compressor to shut off. If the compressor keeps running at the warmest position your thermostat is shorted. If you do hear your compressor shut off , and the thermostat is working, you are probably low on refrigerant.

Room air conditioner not cooling low enough

It may need cleaning, if it cools when you turn the thermostat down it does not need refrigerant, the unit may have a thermostat our of caliabration.

Airconditioner turns on and off automatically.

It is normal for an air conditioner to turn off and on automatically. This keeps it from making the room too cold. If it has a digital thermostat, set the thermostat to what temperature you want it to be in the room. If the air conditioner has a knob that says "colder", you let the air conditioner run until the room is comfortable to you and then you turn the knob very slowly toward warmer until the air conditioner turns off, and then very slowly turn it back to colder until the compressor comes back on. It's normal for a non-central air conditioner to run the entire time you have the power turned on but the compressor, which provides the cooling, will turn on and off when only when cooling is needed.

Rooftop air conditioner kicks on and off when unit is plugged in, even though the thermostat is off,

It sounds as if you have a Thermostat or low voltage wiring problem. If you turn electric off, investigate wires to Thermostat. If the wires are not touching each other, remove thermostat completely cap all wires, turn power back on. If unit doesnt come back on you need a new Thermostat.

Air conditioner does not kick on when I turn down the thermostat

What kind of a unit is it? Is it integrated with a furnace in the attic? Need to now this information. Also, turn the thermostat to Cool/Auto and go outside to see if the condenser unit is running, if so, then there is a problem with the indoor blower motor or thermostat. Jumper the green and red wires on the thermostat and see if the blower comes on. If so, you have a bad thermostat. If not, you could have a bad fan motor or capacitor.

Duo Therm Thermostat

Hi there

I think this is a setting on your air conditioner, the air conditioner will turn off when the room is at the correct temperature and when the room starts to warm up, the air conditioner will turn back on. (You need to find the settings and change them from auto-adjust to manual-adjust)
