CH6 OIL code

How do you reset the code once the oil & filter have been changed? There appears to be no switch or button; the manual does not even mention the code system; I disconnected the battery - that was no help either

  • mark_j_powle Aug 25, 2009

I had come to that conclusion. Once the time reached 103 it reset. I had not bothered to update this post as it appeared no-one read it in the first place.

    Thanks

I have a cub cadet lt1550 and the oil light is blinking and a ch6 code is flashing. checked the oil and it is full. just wanted to know if something is wrong or that is a reminder to change oil and if it...

The mower is programmed to remind you to change the oil every 50 hours. It will continue blinking for 2 hours. It will begin blinking again at 100 hours and every 50 hours after that. There is no manual reset.

Just changed oil and filter rinsed around oil filter with brake clean and now engine light is on my bike year model is not listed 2008 road king classic

first off, using any cleaner around your oil filter is a no no......just use a little oil on the seal. try letting your bike warm up for about 10 minutes........check oil level. make sure its not too low.........that should take care of it

Ch6 Oil code

Hello, W/D here.

What you are actually getting is Chg Oil (change oil). This is preprogrammed in, as a reminder for you to service the engine. It will go back to the hour meter mode after about 1 hour of additional runtime. If you have changed your oil and filter, there is nothing else to do. The oil and filter need to be changed regularly. If the oil breaks down in your engine, it will lose it's lubricating properties and the engine will seize up.

Best regards, --W/D--

Sounds like your oil low switch is either bad or maybe wire was knocked off when changed oil.

Change Oil Soon light won't go off even after changing the oil.

You are able to reset it. The directions are in your manual:

1. press the options button under the screen utnil ENGINE OIL MONITOR appears on the DIC screen

2. Press the set/reset button to reset the system

The next screen indicates that the engine oil monitor system has been reset.

If the message is still on...try steps again
