Most Combo Recorders (VHS and DVD) will prevent you from
recording a Copyrighted VHS tape program onto DVD.
Try recording a TV program onto your VHS tape, then
transfer it to your DVD and see if your new DVD recording
will work or not.
Yes,if u want to.Unplug, replug the unit back after about an hour or so.The unit should reset it self out of protection mode and work again,if nothing in the circuit boards are burn.
Hey Ol' Fred... One of my good friends is an ol Fred so I felt compelled to stop in and help! I'm not sure of your setup, but if you've got a combo DVD/VHS unit, make sure that you have out puts to the TV for Both parts separately... You can designate by accessing the TV's onscreen menu and setting up a separate source for DVD and one for VHS. I've found on my projection TV that it's best to use the Coax cable connections for the VHS to TV. Then once it's setup with separate hookups to the Tv, you should have audio and video for VHS... k
blank disk to dvd tray....VHS in deck....PUSH PLAY ON VHS...and RECORD on DVD BURNER....if it is a burner...they weren't all burners....it has to say DVD WRITABLE or some thing in that mannern
I have the Samsung dvd-vr 357. I have had a couple problems with it but I called samsung and they walked me through fixing it each time. I don't know if you have tried this or not but that is my suggestion. The last problem I had was copying from vcr to dvd. I got audio but no video. Problem was it was on dvd when i started it, it should have been on vrc. It should be set on whichever one you are recording from. Hope this helps someone.
Try holding down the p.scan button on your remote until the p.scan sign on the unit disappears. Then you should be able to go into setup and put it back to interlace. I had the same problem and thats how I fixed it.
