My Humminbird fishfinder will come on and work good for a while then it will go to 1.7 feet and the screen goes black afer a few min. it will come back on and work o.k. for a short pirid of time and then start doing the same thing over again.what is wrong

Hi Greg and Ernesto:
Re-stating the obvious, your transducer is not working but you know that the sounder is.
I would start by checking to see if your transducer works on a different sounder. That's just a double check to confirm that it really is not working.
Then I'd try to isolate the problem:
- Plug (couold be corroded or damaged)
- wire (could be broken)
- Transducer (could be defective)
Since these are sealed units, I'd be checking with the supplier to try to find a replacement. Hopefully they are not too expensive, and time spent fishing is better than trying to maybe save a few dollars, especially if you're taking out charters.

Sorry to say it sounds like you will need to replace the screen assembly which is about a $70 repair or so.
This is best left to a qualified Humminbird technician who has access to parts and support.

I've got the 565 and everything will be working fine and then the depth
finder or bottom of the lake goes to 6ft. Have to shut it off for an hour and it works for a wile but it always goes back to doing it

i have the same model same problem. i rehooked it up and now when i slide the base onto the reciever it beeps once then 3 times and i press the power button and nothing happens.. did you ever get help ????????
