Where to connect the throttle cable on a GX 31 honda motor FG 100 tiller

I look up honda engines at : honda-engines-eu.com they have the best access to detailed information. If you can identify the carb butterfly, any cable should attach to the butterfly control. I see a Honda GX100, but not a GX31.

My BE Honda 5.0 2900 psi pressure washer has oil in air filter. I believe it is because my buddy left it tilted to the side in th ecar when he borrowed it. How can I fix it? It is probably low on oil as...

hi there ibharti sounds like gx 160 honda ohv engine

replace the air filter if it has been wet with oil, , remove the float bowl and check for oil in the carb, blow the jets out, top up the oil to the point on the oil filler so that it just spills over when the threads start for the screw in cap ( from memory units only hold 600 or 700 mil of oil
use a 10w/40 or 20w/50 ) as honda have a problem with 30 wheight oil in respect to oil level shutdown sensors ( oil thins out too much ) and switch float does not float

if all is good in carby , remove plug and check oil has not got into combustion chamber
blow out with air if need to , refit plug , reassemble

let er rip , with water connected to pump of course or seals will burn from dry run

note unit may blow blue white smoke for a little while clearing itself , then settle back

in the mean time here is web site for parts if need

go to honda brand ,

High compression in 1 cylinder of a 170 ci. 40 psi high.

Hi!

Per the Ford manual, the acceptable range is 155-195 PSI. It sounds to me like you don't have a compression issue with this engine (without knowing the exact readings for each cylinder). Normally one cylinder being higher than the others, but still within spec, would not concern me a lot. Had one been much lower, then I think that might be cause for concern. There could be many reasons for the one hole being higher. If the engine hasn't been rebuilt in a long time, there could be carbon deposits in the compression chamber. There are many chemical fixes for this availble at your local parts store. If the engine is running fine with no pinging or detonation, I'd just continue to enjoy your classic ride (I own a 1971 Challenger converitble with a 440-6 pack, so I understand the joy of a classic car!).

Good luck and please let me know if this helps!
