Center/subwoofer speaker out...mixed

Were the speakers part of the monitor or plugged into the side of the monitor.?..If so there may have been an amplifier in the monitor.. By replacing the monitor with one with no amplifier you have no sound.. The line output is not enough to drive the speakers ...you will need speakers with built in amplifiers that plug into a transformer plug and other green pin plug into the output on the computer.

Hi names Rui i like to help you by giving you step by step instruction in propely hocking up your logitech speakers:

Instructions

1. Connect the black plug of the rear right speaker into the black plug on the subwoofer.

2. Connect the yellow plug on the rear left speaker into the yellow input on the subwoofer.

3. Connect the red plug of the front center speaker into the red input on the subwoofer.

4. Connect the white plug of the front left speaker into the white input on the subwoofer.

5. Connect the d-sub connector plug from the front right speaker into the d-plug connector on the subwoofer.

6. Connect the green, black and orange input to the matching plugs on your computer. If you have a four-channel sound card, connect the green plug from the input audio cable to the front plug of the card and the black plug to the rear plug. Do not connect the orange input. If you are using a two-channel sound card, connect the green plug from the input audio cable to the "Line Out" jack on the sound card. Do not connect the green and orange plug.

7. Plug the subwoofer power chord into the electrical power outlet.

8. Place your subwoofer on ground around your computer desk. Position the front center speaker on top of your computer monitor.

9. Place the left and right front speakers on the sides of the monitor. Position the left and right rear speakers behind you, making sure they are pointing toward the front left and right speakers.

10. needs to support 5.1 surround. Normally, more than three sockets for sound indicates that it does. Then you need to use the software that comes with the sound hardware to configure it for 5.1 - Default will be 2.1 or just 2.
Check the control panel out. This is a lot easier under Windows 7.- Here you can access what you need via the speaker icon on the system tray (right click)
There is NO problem with your OS or hardware, this is pretty standard...

Look through your receiver's DSP sound settings. When you locate the volume control for the center channel, adjust it to be in balance with the music and sound FX. Often, I just forget about the DSP and run the sound in stereo with subwoofer. Helps to minimize the different audio mixes between different TV STATIONS AND DVDs.

Hello Shantilla hi, the orange port is for the Center speaker for a 5.1 surround set up. to enable this you need to find the controls of the sound setup. usually on the lower right side of the computer. If the sound card is a Realtek brand the sound manager is the orange speaker ICON, need to open this sound manager software and enable 5.1 surround. You need the SOUND driver to use the surround setup.

It should go black to black, green to green, and orange to orange (the color coordinated pattern). I suspect your problem may be in the audio driver or a bad wire or bad sound card/ports.

First try re-configuring your audio (like you did when the computer was new):
If you have an audio card, start the software for that. Start > All Programs > Creative > Creative Sound Console. If you end up in Entertainment mode. Click on the Speakers tab and Autoconfigure the speakers.
If you have the on-board audio, see the Realtek audio in the Device Manager. Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Realtek HD Audio Manager. Click on the Speaker Configuration tab and choose your audio set-up.

Check if the Device Manager has a red x or yellow exclamation point for the audio. Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager. Try updating the driver. (In Windows 7, this works best if Windows Updates is set to automatically install drivers as well as other updates. Look in Windows Updates, the driver may be waiting to be installed.) Then try reconfiguring again after a reboot.

Also check if the speakers are getting power. Note: the configuration step above won't work if the speakers aren't powered and plugged in. Try them on another computer if you can.

Hi: I'm sure you checked the volume control of the Bose controller. Check where you plugged it in to the back of your computer. Mine has a veriable outpup and a fixed output. I hope this helps, Jeff

Sounds like you are getting quad sound in the test process that checks them, yet when in windows media player or winamp (or whatever) your rear speakers aren't producing sound: Try setting your sound drivers to do something like "speaker fill" then you are set. I'm under the belief that stereo sounds aren't being matrixed into all 4 speakers.

this is just a shot in the dark, but have you attempted to play around with your sound driver's configuration? I'm unfamiliar with the newer Nforce stuff, but try looking around in the sound manager Nvidia uses. It sounds like it's been configured to swap speakers. (As an example, I'm using the realtek audio manager on an asus p5k-vm board myself, and the option shows up as "Swap Center/ Subwoofer Output" in my configuration.)

You need to use a digital interface cable between the sound card and the speakers to get all of the 6 channels to work properly.
