The blower works, the compressor is kicking on, but it's only blowing room temp air. There is nothing else wrong with it, seems to sound the same as always. The display works, the buttons work, I can adjust the speed/mode. But no cold air in any mode or speed, I've tried them all. It stopped working the end of last summer and has been off and unplugged for the winter, hooked it up again last week... still not working.
SOURCE: no cold air on a/c
1. check the fan
2. maybe some place leak
3. Do you still have the warranty?
My central AC had the same problem, lost the freon R-22
SOURCE: NO COLD AIR
If the fan and compressor are both running and no cold air then you’re low on refrigerant,
Thermostatic expansion valve closed or bad , dirty condenser or the valves are bad in the
compressor.
SOURCE: The compressor works it just kicks out after two hours
the way to verify if the thermostat switch is the culprit : is to shut off the power, "jumper" the thermostat> the device at the other end of the bulb you described, and see if it freezes you out... if the compressor kicks off while this switch is jumpered the compressor is the culprit.
SOURCE: Room air conditioner is DOA, won't blow cold
it depends on what country you come.e.g.in Jreland, as long as you can prove you bought the item in a particular shop you dont need a receipt.and it should be still under guarantee.you should try this first..it sounds like a faulty thermostat.

If it needs refrigerant, is that easy to check? Can I buy that somewhere and do it myself? Is it worth the cost to fix it?
