Zebra Z4Mplus Label Printer Logo

ZM4 Plus Zebra printer will stop printing intermittently and will need to be rebooted before it starts to print the labels again. I was reading a little into this issue already and what I came across so far is someone stating that it maybe a bad mainboard with the printer itself.

SOURCE: Print Width Issue

the issue you are having is DPI related, when data is sent to the printer and rendered it is dot for dot, so a Z4M 203dpi printer has about 800dots on the printhead where your printer has about 1200dots on the printhead. so when your software prints to dot800 thinking it is the edge of the label it is infact at 60%. there sould be an option in the software to configure around this. if not the is an option in the printer to convert DPI setting ie 150>300 or 100>200 and so on. but i don't thing you can make a 300dpi print as 203dpi

best of luck

SOURCE: Zebra S4M prints one label then goes to flashing pause light.

most likely it is a printer driver issue. There's 2 drivers, one for 200dpi and one for 300dpi. Use the one for 200dpi. It could also be the label setting is incorrect. Try running a calibration.

Check the drive belt. It might be missing a tooth if the printer is older. I can assist if you want to check this.

SOURCE: Sent too many labels to printer - need to reset

As the previous expert has stated, with the printer paused, press the cancel key to cancel the job. One thing to note, is depending on how your software sends the print jobs, you may say print 1000 labels, but the software sends it one at a time, so basically you have 1000 print jobs in the printer. If you pause the printer, press and hold the cancel key. Hold it for about 2 mins. This should clear the buffer.

SOURCE: Label Printing stuck in queues

Yes that is correct the Z4M is not supported any longer as they have reached End Of Life although parts are still available. The problem will be because the printer hasn't got enough memory, the Z4M uses flash RAM installed on the Main Logic Board. These might not be readilly available, another thing to use would be a Print Buffer. You should still be able to get them. The idea is to control the amount of data that is flowing to the printer, if the internal buffer fills up it will corrupt the data and a reboot is required.

Hello, I have a problem with Zebra Z4M Plus

Hi, if is the vertical line, its the print head that need to be replaced,
try to clean the print head and try this to confirm:
turn printer off, press PAUSE button and at the same time, power on, don't release the button, please wait until printer LCD screen come on, then release button. It will print the PAUSE test and after few 3-4 prints, u can turn off and on again otherwise printer not ready to print your labels until u restart it. (pause test stops after 10-15 labels). this pause print just show how the print head is and if come with vertical lines, u will need to replace. other idea is (if u can) turn the bar code different position or on vertical way at label format. Thanks.

How do I configure a Zebrazm4 Plus printer for a

Usually the easiest way to do this is to make sure the printer driver you're using is set for continous labels. This setting will vary depending on the driver / software being used to print labels. You can also go into the SETUP mode on the printer and make sure MEDIA TYPE is set to continous. Be aware that most printer drivers will override the setting in the printer. You may set to continous in the printer but if the software is set for die cut labels, then the printer will act for printing die cut labels when a format is sent to the printer.

Prints larger that print preview shows...

Firstly make sure your using the correct drive ZM400 rather than Z4M. if you are using the applications driver make sure of headers and footers sizes and the print area is set correctly. If your using odd sized lables download some new drivers from the Nice Label website, they are far more adjustable that the standard Zebra drivers.

Zebra zm4 won't print labels all the way.

Please check your driver settings, you will probably find that you have the printer set to use the 2x2 labels instead of the 2x4

Hi, I have a zebra 110 xi||| plus which is printing extra labels.

Did you design the label? Do you have any control over the label design? This is usually a sign that the printer is trying to excede the page limit (usually by one dot row) and is going to the next label to finish. By making the label length slightly smaller, you can stop this.
