My recommendation is to Reolace the grates w/stainless steel. The paint used on bbq grills is no really a paint. It's more like a very thin powder coating. There are high temp paints available, but the pigment is questionable for food proceeses.

My microwave oven is rusty underneath turnable so is it safe to paint it &which paint to use

They sell high heat paint for BBQ's and epoxy paint for appliances. Go to Lowes and find these products. Read the labels and find the manufactures phone number and ask them if it is ok to paint a microwave. Good luck!

The white ceiling coat has come away and is falling off. Microwave is out of guarantee. Have I any come back on this. Also, is this dangerous?

Is this by chance a Samsung Microwave?? I just answered a similar question with a picture right before this. In the other post, it looked like the Micro was either painted while it was already rusted or it is rusting from the inside out into the cavity where you cook food. In either case, regardless of age, I would contact the manufacturer and explain to them that this could be a factory defect. Safety issue would be possible paint/rust flakes in uncovered food. If manufacturer puts you off, contact Better Business Bureau.

How to use the Tesco mtg06 microwave grill?do not have instruction manual

The oven may be used purely for microwaving or simply as a grill for cooking such things as toast. The radiant or quartz grill may be used in a variety of ways. You can use microwaves that have grill functions to roast foods, for baking purposes or for grilling food such as bacon or sausages on the racks. Some models also allow you to use both the oven and grill together, and you can produce fantastically presented meals by using the grill to brown off your dish after cooking. The grill will often have low, medium and high settings for you to choose from, letting you control how brown your food is. By using a microwave with a grill, you can prepare great meals or snacks in a fraction of the time that it would take if you used a conventional oven and grill. Microwaves are particularly convenient, as you don't have to keep checking on the food or stand over it as it cooks.

My father-in-law just recently spray painted the inside of his microwave with whatever spray paint he had in his garage....is the microwave safe to use?? I have a 6yr old, a 6month old and am currently...

As long as the paint has cured and is not likely to "drip" or "flake" onto the food, that is normally covered anyway, I can see no problem.
There is no health risk as far as I can see.

Paint is peeling inside the top of the microwave. Does this affect the safety or efficacy of the microwave. Can I repaint it? If so, with what?

Yes you can repaint it. Use an epoxy based paint and clean the metalwork with sand paper first.
The only health question is if you get the flaking paint in your food - yuk!

Can a microwave door be painted on the inside as paint is flaking off. I would like to resurface the inside or the door

No, you can't do that. It would make chemicals from the paint saturate your food. You do not want that.

COATING ON INSIDE OF MICROWAVE HAS STARTED TO COME OFF, EXPOSING UNDERNEATH SURFACE, IS IT STILL SAFE TO USE AND EAT FOOD COOKED IN IT?

Nothing special in there. As long as the paint is not flaking into the food you are ok, Be aware that bare metal could begin to arc. There is special microwave paint available but it will not match and look bad unless you redo the entire interior.

GE microwave

If the mocrowave still working, I wouldn't worry about operating it. If you want to have some peace of mind you can buy the paint and do it yourself. Go HERE to get the paint that is specially for microwaves use.

Microwave Oven Interior Paint

Yes, but if this is not fixed, it may flake off and get in your food, or allow grease or food particles to build up on the surface.

The loose paint should really be sanded off, at least.

Then when it's clean and dry, you can apply a little high-temperature appliance paint, available from department stores, home improvement centers, and appliance parts stores.
