Paint peeling inside microwave

If the unit has been operating properly for some time with no issues, I would say it is fine to continue to use. The issue I would have would be with the possibility with the paint falling into the food.

It would be interesting for you to call the manufacturers' support line and ask why this is happening. Maybe they will offer you a replacement if it was a manufacturing process defect. Mention that the paint may have fallen into the food.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!

Heat's water great , won't pop corn

It may be a food placement issue or possibly a bad humidity sensor.

I always recommend that folks put food off-center on the turntable (not in the center) to assure more even heating.

It's a stirring action, so imagine how inefficient it would be to stir just by twirling a spoon in the center of your coffee!

Also, when you put your food off-center, you're not putting it in the same spot every time. That will help prevent repeated heating of the the same spot on the glass, which can lead to weakness and cracking. Microwave popcorn gets hot enough to do that.

We have the entire service manual at our site if your or a friend want to look that over: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/r820bc_bk_bw_sm.pdf

If you need a new sensor, you can order Sharp parts from Tritronics at http://www.wehaveparts.com

Please write back with more details if you need further help.

PAINT DAMAGE INSIDE MICROWAVE CAVITY.

If the cavity metal of the oven is chipped or charred, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If it's allowed to stay that way, it can arc, which will greatly accelerate the charring & rusting processes.

Replaced the fuse and it immediately blows. My wife cooked several large potatoes got it ral hot before failure

see the steps and eliminate short circuit use the common sense: God bless youNo Lights or Power, Unit seems Dead First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse. Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open. However if after replace the fuse the problem remain, you must test: a) power cord for short b) outlet wall for ground improperly c) HV transformer faulty d) Rectifier HV faulty e) Magnetron faulty. d) power supply faulty replace or repair filter diode, resistor. etc Or call some experimented service tech for troubleshooting.7_27_2012_3_35_59_pm.gif

Microwave doesn't work

the outer casing has to be removed, inside you will find a large fuse 10A> this protects the transformers and magnetrons, also you will find some smaller control circuit fuses, they are normally mounted on the circuit board at the rear of the control panel.

I have a Sylvania Microwave

You should replace the waveguide cover, the plate you refer to. They are fairly cheap and easy to replace.
www.espares.co.uk or www.cpc.co.uk most appliance repair services can get them.

Loud noise wont heat [sharp R-820 BC

This is an indicator that the magnetron has failed, especially when it is followed by a loud sound, but there are two other parts that can be a factor, the high voltage capacitor and diode. The Convection/Microwave Oven needs to be assessed for parts and labor and cost.

Hi, We have a Sharp

Replacement of the turntable motor should be carried out by a qualified appliance repair service.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

But here is a basic method if you are mechanically minded and have electrical safety knowledge.

I am assuming the plastic coupler is not split or broken and causing the problem.

The motor assembly is fixed to the base of the oven usually with two screws and access is obtained usually by removing the inspection plate directly beneath the motor. It is usually a plug in synchronous motor that revolves at a few revs per minute but the plastic cogs in the motors gear box fail and the motor assembly must be replaced. They are fairly inexpensive and obtainable usually from a domestic appliance repair shop.
If you feel confident, disconnect it from the mains power, remove anything in the cavity and turn it upside down if it is a tabletop model, a little more complicated if it is built in!
Remove the inspection plate, sometimes it must be cut out with sharp cutters, and disconnect the motor. Remove the motor and go and get a new one. Fit the new motor and fit the inspection cover back on the base by turning it to fit and using an extra screw fix it then put the microwave back in its position. Plug it back in, with the turntable and plate. Put a cup of water on the plate inside of the oven and heat for 20 seconds to check the plate goes round.
Hope this helps.
