My uncle purchased a Haier Plasma TV in March. He went on vacation before opening the TV. When he got back, he moved and still didn't open the box. Finally, a month after he moves in, I'm installing the TV for him. It was brand new never used right out of the box. First thing we noticed was a small crack on the bottom left corner on the screen. When we plugged it in, there was no picture. It was all black and the screen wasn't on at all. The sound was just fuzz. I tried everything. I checked every connection at least 10 times. My uncle got a guy over to look at it and he said there was no hope. I wasn't there so I don't know if the guy was any good or qualified at all. Any help guys? It's brand new but I'm pretty sure it's past warranty.
Too bought a Haier Plasma 42EP24S ,it stopped working after 7 months -I moved and did not touch it for the next five months while searching for another tv to replace it- I came apon this site . the tv was out of warrenty by both sears and haeir well after reading these posts I called haier america and complained they in turn extended my warrenty and a sears rep came on 5 differant times and replaced all the boards inside tv with no luck - so after putting in over $1400.00 in parts an repair into a $1200.00 tv they wanted to start replacing boards again I refused and kept complaining to several differant reps at sears [they told me it was haeirs responsabilty not thiers] I don't know haw many times I explained to them that sears sold me the tv not haeir so stand behind what you sell -well after alot of calls and persistance sears replaced my tv free of charge with credt for a new tv for exactly what I paid SO DONT BUY ANY PARTS OR PAY FOR ANY SERVICE IF YOU BOUGHT THIS TV AND ARE HAVING PLOBLEMS be persistant untill its either fixed or replaced
My TV didn't have a crack, yet it still didn't work. Haier has a rotten product out there. I got mine from Sears, and Sears won't support it...especially if out of warranty. These guys should have had a recall on this product. Instead, they give it some kind of cute name like "service ticket" or some such nonsense. It's a losing battle. The TV is trash. Cut your losses. Don't put anymore money into that unit. Do yourself a favor and buy a Vizio, Sony, Samsung, etc. Don't buy anything from Sears or Haier again...It will save you great pain, expense, and heartache.

Y-Sustain board or driver board should be suspected. Just check this link and select the site named 'Eelctro-help'. There are detailed description about most of the faults that can occur to a plasma tV. Functionally all plasma TV s are the same, except in brand name.
I understand in a way but if it is brand new--take it back and either have it exchanged or sent in for repair. From the brand you are in the UK? Many companies will insist it goes for repair (a shell game) but most major stores selling sets have an unwritten rule: for first 30 days it can be returned and either exchanged or credit given to purchase another set--reason does not matter= you do not like the color of the cabinet take back and they will (not be happy) do something.
Seen a few here in USA where set when removed from box was destroyed in shipping--told customer to take it for repair---again a shell game by maker to have seller deal with this issue.
Don't take no for an answer would be my solution here.
This is not good. Was your tv unplugged or just power button off when you left for vacation. PlasmaTvs are highly susceptible to damage from power surges caused by lighting. Leave unplugged for at least five minutes then plug back in and see if this helps.
If this is the 42EP24S TV the repair is quite easy - remove the back cover and replace 3 boards and an EEPROM, replace the cover and then program the set via the remote control.
If you can get the repair kit (TV-3940-01) from SEARS, get it.
You can get a kit (6871VSNB03E) from Rich-Tech for $198 plus shipping. It does not have the EEPROM though.
Usually you have to be a certified technician of the manufacturer to order and receive those parts. It comes down to insurance reasons because if you were to install them yourself and the TV burned the house down and you were to perish, the company would be liable. As frustrating as it is, you will likely not get the parts. Are you saying that Haier will not provide a service technician for an out of warranty repair or at least point you in the right direction? That's poor customer service and I would think twice about purchasing from them again.
Harish.......If you've lost both audio and video you'll probably need the upgrade kit. If it were just video you could get by for sometime with replacing the slow blow fuse on the s-zus board. Check your eprom chip on the digiatal board to see if it appears burnt. If so it may have fried. If you'd like the service manual I'll need your email address
his is what I have found out so far the YSUS PC board is your problem
Part number 6871QYH045B I have a call into Haier to see if I can get this
I did a search on the web and found a couple but none in the US
so if someone can traslate these sites and help out
