its a safety feature, the dvd player can only work when your car is in park or if your park break is on, reason being is that the dvd player is grounded so that when your parked you can watch a movie safely, i know boring!!! so all you need to do is find where its grounded at the park break and re-ground the wire to a area that isn't a break( anywhere other then your break switch) and the dvd will play wen in motion.
what i mean by this is that there is a little switch in your centre console where when your break is on the button is down allowing power to the wire, when the break is up it releases the power giving no juice to the wire allowing the dvd player to ground and not work.
all you need is to make the wire able to work without being attached to anything other then a live ground.

On bypasses you can either hook the parking brake wire straight to ground, if that does not work you can install a toggle switch between the parking brake wire and ground so you can mimic the parking brake on off.
you just need to hook up the foot brake wire (yellow and black) and hook up the parking brake wire (yellow and blue (looks green) ) set the parking brake then press and release the foot brake and your dvd picture will play
Most in car dvd players require a connection to the parking brake so it will not play a dvd while you are driving (in dash only). The easiest way around it is to run a 12v wire to the lead of the parking brake wire on the dvd player. With a constant 12v it should play when the ignition is in the on position.
