Your wireless adapter, the one in your laptop, the laptop we know nothing about because... well who knows why you would withhold that vital bit of information, all I can do is speculate, and speculation is usually counter-productive, and I answer questions on this board to be productive, so what I am getting around to say is that the aforementioned wireless adapter, the one in your laptop, needs to be 5 GHz capable. I would know this if you cared to tell us what make and model of laptop you have as opposed to just the router which we know is 5 GHz capable because you told us. Of course, by posting in the Wireless Network Adapter forum, you can assume that we can look at your post and inherently know all the information about your problem because we are "experts".

Testimonial: "You are a lot sarcastic, but that's cool as this was a total noob post. I was was simply doing a search for issues I was having with my router, but somehow managed to make this post... yep, I'm good.. btw.. laptop is not 5g compatible, hence the issue.."

Please can i use my Huawei Router with sim card integration , to recieve wifi signal on my pc without connecting it to a hp Switch device port using a lan cable ?

It is unclear given what information is provided. Your PC has a Network Adapter. If new enough, it may utilize protocols of both 5G and 2G wireless access points. If older, you would need a USB modem adapter to access 5G and have to configure the PC to use that adapter rather than the internal one. A router may be configured to show both 2G and 5G connections and yet the PC not show the 5G connection because of the Network Adapter . But regardless, when you are first setting up Wi-Fi, you need to connect router by Ethernet cable to the PC in order to login to the router home page where you will be entering the security keys for the 2G and 5G access points. That requires you know perhaps the router address and password, the default for which is generally on the bottom of the router. This can be rather daunting but one can look up how to setup the router by router brand for wireless as well as looking up the topic of wirelss networking. But you will first have to physically connect the router and laptop before you will ever be able to get WiFi without the cable. Your ISP technician might help.

Iphone won't connect to Netgear R6200

Yeah that's a dual band router. Which means it operates on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Sounds like some of your devices only work on the 2.4Ghz. So make sure it is enabled in the configuration.

This video will show you how to get to the config screen on your router.

Cant connect my kindle to wi fi router

Check the wireless settings of your router and then try to connect Kindle to the wireless network . If your wireless network is secured then make sure that you are typing the correct network key.

I have a N wireless Belkin router model F5D8236-4 v2 which works fine with my windows 7 laptop but recently obtained a Kindle and it will not connect, refusing to accept my password. My son connects fine...

I suggest you check two things. 1.) Is your router operating only in "N" mode? 2.) The type of security your router is running maybe something that doesn't work with Kindles.
I looked up the spec on the Kindle. - (Check your router and confirm your using these settings). Supports public and private Wi-Fi networks or hotspots that use the 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n (in b or g compatibility mode) standard with support for WEP, WPA and WPA2 security using password authentication; does not connect to WPA and WPA2 secured networks using 802.1X authentication methods; does not support connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks.
If your router is setup with these setting you could try turning off your security on the wireless function of the router just for a test. If the Kindle works without any security then you know that your mode/speed b/g/n is not the problem and you need to setup security differently on your router. If you can try the kindle some with free internet. McDonalds, coffees shop, library, etc. That would confirm the trouble is only at home or with the Kindle.... good luck Kindles are great, hope you get to enjoy it soon. P>S> maybe take it into staples or best buy and asked there tech to check it out.
