After running the washer leave the door open also if your detergent dispenser is removable do that as well. What is happening is the water is becoming stale and smells. Front loaders have a vent located in the back of the machine which, if there is enough airflow allows the water to evaporate naturally, but if the washer is built in or in a closet then you need to create more airflow by using either or both of my examples. After running the washer leave the door open also if your detergent dispenser is removable do that as well. You could purchase front loader washing machine cleaning chemical or soap. My experience with cleaning chemical and soap was to just masking smell, not fixing the problem. I did a few search and came out with using vinegar, baking powder and bleach is most effective way to clean and get smell out of washing machine. ie run cleaning cycle with 1 or 2 cup of vinegar, let it run for 20 ~ 30 minutes and pause for 30 minutes (it help break it up) let resume and finish cycle. Run cleaning cycle again with baking powder. If your machine don't have cleaning cycle use hot water and heavy load setting. Hope this help you.
