Remove the tape manually, looks like a faulty tape, otherwise, faulty library robot, in that case:

Quantum superloader 3 drive error type

Hi Ulrike

I suspect that your backup software has "locked" the drive / library from the front panel.

This is why disconnecting / rebooting the library solves the issue.

If you are using backup exec or similar, try going to devices, selecting the library, right click and "unlock" before using the front panel buttons.
You could also use BUEX to do the tape moves for you instead of even touching the front panel.

Lexmark x4550 installed new cartridge a lexmark cartridge I keep getting alignment error. Take the tape off. There is no tape to take off since I already took it off. How can I fix this problem?

The problem could be due to a communication failure between one of the printheads (cartridges) and the All-In One (AIO) or by a short in one if the printheads. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix cartridge issues:

  1. Make sure the printer is on.
  2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
  3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  7. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

I got always the message Print Head not installed

follow these steps:
1.
Turn the open the top cover. Wait for the cartridge carrier to stop moving, then lift the first cartridge out of the printer. Tilt the cartridge forward, then carefully lift it out of the printer.
2.
Examine the electrical contacts on the bottom of the cartridge. Look for any tape that might be covering those contacts. New print cartridges ship with this tape to protect the cartridge and prevent leaks. If you fail to remove this tape, the printer cannot sense the cartridge and it might return a "print head not installed" error.
3.
Remove the rest of the cartridges from the printer. Check them for tape and other obstructions. Also check the cartridges for leaking ink, and clean them if necessary. Discard and replace any cartridges found to be leaking.
4.
Clean the ink cartridge carriers thoroughly, using a soft cloth or a small vacuum cleaner designed for cleaning computer components. Paper dust and ink residue can accumulate in the carrier and cause communication issues with the printer.
5.
Place the ink cartridges back in the printer and close the top cover. Power cycle the printer if the error message does not go away immediately.

When I put in a VHS, the power goes off and when I turn it back on, it ejects the tape.

It has a tape transport problem. It shuts off to avoid any damage. It probably is not loading the cassette all the way in.

Need to fix urgently lexmark x3470 cover open error. in images if possible.

open operator panel (top piece with electronic display) lift up cartridge cover (the one you lift to change cartridges) there is a small black plastic lever which you can manually move up and down with your finger (usually on left side). take a piece of tape and TAPE IT DOWN so that it can not pop up again (popping up is what triggers the error message (cover open) even when it is closed.
after you tape it down you will never see this error message again, even with the cover up.
who needs a machine to tell you a cover is open? we can SEE this with the human eye.
it is a useless feature. also, check device manager (com ports) to make sure there are no yellow explanation marks (port error) or no printer will work on it. you may have to make a change in bios to assign the port manually to make sure there are no conflicts with the port. nancynerd

Error e5

Isnt e5 error meaning the cartridge has been previously used before?? Best bet is to hold in both the colour and black copy buttons for about 5 - 10 seconds and this should allow you to print again. If you do not have a copier/scanner, hold in the resume button. (triangle within a circle).
