Hi i have lost my manual for this microwave and i cant remember how to use the defrost button as i have not used this setting before

1. Press and hold the 'preset/clock/defrost' button. The clock will display, with the hours flashing.
2. Twiddle the dial to set the hour.
3. Press the button again. The minutes will now be flashing
4. Twiddle the dial to set the minutes.
5. Press the button again.

That's it!

It should default to the highest power setting.

If not, you can reset it by unplugging the power for a minute or two, plugging it back in, and setting the clock.

Otherwise, refer to your owner's manual.

You can defrost items by time but not with the Q-Defrost or Auto-Defrost functions. (I've found it best to defrost ground beef with timed intervals at power 1. Auto Defrost by weight usually starts cooking the meat. You will need to try it a few times to see how long and what power to use.)

1 Use the number buttons to set a cooking
time. You can set a time from one second to
99 minutes, 99 seconds. To set a time over
one minute, enter the seconds too. For
example, to set 20 minutes, enter 2, 0, 0, 0 .
2 If you want to set the power level to
something other than High, press the Power
Level button, then use the number buttons
to enter a power level.

You push the defrost button then the amount of meat from the number pad

Press the defrost button, select the weight for the meat ... or what ever ... I use 50% heat selection ... + the time the device suggests.

i cant work out if its broken or not over the years i do remember seeing a sanyo microwave that would not cook untill the time was set though have not seen another since (cause its a silly idea) but try setting the time and it might work

generally you push a button that says clock then enter the time you want displayed and press enter..Don't know if you have those buttons but you should be able to muddle through...

check istruction manual, and try to set cntrol panel . that is very easy to operate, try one more time ...
