Olympus stylus 1010 battery door latch broken

Did it get wet?? Are you sure battery is charging? You can send it in to Olympus repair dept. for a free estimate. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_servicerepair.asp   Mine was still under warranty so everything was free and they had it back to me within the week. For a my sister's wedding. Unbelievable!!!  Great experiance!

Google the words...disassemble a digital camera.

It doesn't get printed on the pictures. The info is stored along with the picture and is called metadata. This info can be retrieved with most photo editing programs.

i dont know, just give to a fixer in ure city, if u do it your self , and they see that you taped it, your warrante fals away so its better to not fix by ureself

I phoned the Olympus people for replacement parts 800-622-6372 and they shipped me a replacement battery door assembly for my Stylus 1010 camera. I only paid shipping.

I just wanted to follow up that we ordered the replacement part from the website another poster listed:

The part came in three days and it was SO EASY to replace. You just need a tiny Phillip's head scewdriver and about three minutes. Remove the three small screws that attach the faceplate to the camera (one on the bottom, two on the side). The faceplate pops right off and exposes the hinge that holds the battery door in place. Remove the final screw that holds the hinge in place. Reuse the original spring, pop the new door in place and then replace the faceplate.

Just like new! :)
