Don't know connections to receiver - Onkyo HTR500 Receiver

To play audio from your DVD player through the 2238b, you will need to hook the RCA left an right outputs from the DVD to the Aux IN on the back of the 2238b. Then you will need to power on the 2238b and place the selector switch to the Aux position. Lastly, adjust the volume to a level you are comfortable with and that should be it.

You don't mention the year/make/model of the vehicle so, my response will be as vague as your problem/question. Either the speakers are not connected properly, defective or, your factory amp ( no way of knowing because you don't mention the vehicle) is not powered up or not working.

There is not a direct connection you can use on this receiver, so you option is to purchase an inexpensive adapter that hooks into the headphone jack of you iPod/iPhone/iPad and splits off into an audio/video cable with a red and white RCA connection. Then you may either chose to hook it into the front input or a specific rear input to send the output to the receiver and play music through your receiver. I don't know for sure, but if you are looking to be able to control it via a remote also and potentially gain video output I think there may be an accessory docking station you can connect to your receiver and doc it to. Check the manufacturers website to see if your model supports this accessory.

You will want to connect all of your devices to the pre-amp or receiver, then connect the outputs of your pre-amp/receiver to the inputs of the EQ. Then connect the outputs of the EQ to the inputs on the amplifier or receiver. If you give me some model numbers, I would be able to tell you exactly which cables go where.
