Usually where the power cord goes it tells you what kind it is (i.e. 12vDC). From my experience, Radio Shack offers different kinds of cords as well as plugs for the unit that match up with the plug on your player. I'd go there and check it out but bring the unit with you and they will match things up.

The power cord is
Input: 120V, 60 Hz.
Output: 9V AC, 400 mA.

So , there is no need to worry about Polarity here. Just make sure , the output voltage is around 9V. DC input is ok. since there is bridge rectifier inside.

Need to order a replacement part. Where can I do this? Made by Durabrand
Ebay has a gazillion 9V - 1.5A power supplys. Search first for ( "Durabrand" +power ) if you get no hits there then you can search under "laptop power supplies". Be sure to look closely that the connector that plugs into the unit matches, and that the power supply is rated at least 1.5 Amps or greater.
