Why does my sanyo flat screen TV have vertical coloced lines on screen with no picture?

Check the ribbons going in between the boards and "work" them to clean up all connections. And on the main board look for possible bad caps.

Your t con board is responsible for all picture distortions but not the vertical lines you described.

Sanyo video vertical lines

There are two possibilities.
1. Deflection yoke mismatch.
2. Shorted component/s at its horizontal oscillator section circuit or at its main power supply regulator [SMPS].

Vertical line in center

If the line is "vertical" then the vertical circuit sounds OK. The problem would be in the horizontal deflection.

Check yoke connection and solder around horz defl circuit.

If the line is horizontal then I would suspect the vertical IC.

Vertical line

Hi there!
This is called a frame collapse. The Amp that drives the vertical sync has failed. This could be from excesive voltage on the mains, Lightning in the area, if you had or simply general failure. May also be dry joints( or loose connections) in the vertical amp or scancoil terminals. Good Luck,JUS004
