Very likely your print head is faulty. You can get it replaced or try the economical solution below.
I had the same problem after replacing the print head. I removed the ink cartridge and then unclip the two metal two clips by the side that hold the print head. Then I used WD40 to spray through the ink holes until the clear liquid comes out from the print head. Then I replaced everything back and start the cleanning process, do a few test prints. It works ok now, no more Machine Error 41. Therefore, sometime the problem might just be clogged pin heads!

Error 41 -The head drive voltage has not been turned from Low to High within the specified time. Check: • Carriage ASSY • Main PCB • Print head unit • Power supply PCB
Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually requires a print head replacement. My advice is to take it to a Brother service centre while it is under warranty. If it's out of warranty then it is cheaper to purchase a new, non Brother model. If you have been using non-Brother cartridges or refills, they can have too much water in them and it erodes the print head after a while. Usuall y just after warranty has expired!
This is the only reference I could find on error 41:
How can I clear the message Machine Error 41 from the display? (ME41)
Machine Error 41 indicates a mechanical malfunction of the Brother machine. Unplug the unit from the power source and then plug it back in.
If the error message continues to be displayed on the LCD, please call Brother Customer Service at 1-800-284-4329 for assistance. The Customer Service center is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00AM to 7:00PM, excluding holidays
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
Machine Error 41 indicates a mechanical malfunction with FAX/DCP/MFC.Often, unplugging the unit from the power source and then plugging it back in again can clear this error message. If the message continues to be displayed on the LCD, please contact YOUR PRINTER Customer Service for more options.
Error 41 is a printhead failure. The only way to fix it to replace the printhead there unfortunately is no way to recover the printhead. If you decide to replace the printhead please do not leave the machine of for extended periods of time (causes the printhead to dry out as it can not do its cleaning cycles), use only genuine ink (I see a lot with this failure with non-genuine inks or refills) and do not cheat the ink system by running empty inks (Dries out the printhead). Just a few tips to extend the life of your printhead.
