Telefunken analogue color TV model MP-A2055VT-H to connect up digital decoder set-top box. The TV only has an RF input. no other plugs. Searched all 80 channels and I cannot find an AV channel on the...

Hi,

The simplest solution would probably be the use of an RF Modulator. Feed the RF Mod with the A/V signals from the Conia CSTB12, set it to transmit on Ch 3 or 4, tune the Telefunken to either channel.

In most Telefunken TVs we have worked on, the A/V INput/OUTput would be on the SCART connectors as shown below.
9775210.jpg
To my understanding, a Conia CSTB12 as sold in Australia has a composite RCA (yellow) Video OUTput and L/R White/Red audio OUTputs. What would be needed would be a A/V signal to SCART adapter/converter.
7906648.jpg
If your Conia CSTB12 has an S-Video, then this may be used.
If your Conia CSTB12 has an HDMI, then something like this may be used.
Incidentally, should you be interested, there are comparable receivers to a Conia CSTB12 that has SCART OUTputs.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

RF Modulators and cable connections

RF MODULATOR HOOKUP
For a TV with only a RF input jack, a RF Modulator can be used to hookup DVD players, DVD recorders and other devices which output RCA composite video and audio. For example, analog cable TV can be connected using a RG-6 type coaxial cable to a VCR or older DVD recorder's analog cable ready tuner RF input. Then as shown above, the output can be connected to the TV thru the RF modulator. The modulator outputs on channel 3 or 4 for the older TV so the TV is set to channel 3 or 4. Some RF modulators are built-in to Audio/Video switch boxes. These allow multiple RCA inputs along with RF input.

RF MODULATOR CLOSE-UP
The modulator converts signals to channel 3 or 4 so older TVs can tune them on their analog tuners channel 3 or 4.

What channel does the vcr need to be on to play a tape?

If you meant to conncct the RF out of the VCR to the RF in of the TV then mostly the RF outputs come in the bands VHF1 CH3 or CH 4 . Also it comes mainly set from factory in the UHF CH36.
Iff there is interference in your area due to local channel the channel can be shifter by trimming the modulator.
So tune the VCR accordingly or Use the AV inputs, video out to video in and audio outs to audio in of TV.

Old TV. Model M79R. How do I connect a DVD player (only a player). The TV is connected to satellite signal (Dish) wired to the 2 UHF screws. I am not sure what or where to connect from the DVD player.

Your DVD outputs composite Video & and an Audio signal, subsequently you must have AV inputs on your set they are Red & White (Audio) & Yellow (Video) RCA Jacks. If you do not have these then you are a bit stumped. You may however get a RF Modulator, this takes the Composite Video & Audio signal, and converts it into a TV Signal that can be "Received" on a TV Channels.
I have included a link so you understand what I am talking about.

No color output from philips 751/171 dvd player

Hello.

The RF modulator sends on a certain frequernzy(Channel) usally around channel 36 on UHF. If there is a adjustmen screw on it try and turn it util the picture disapears and then search for it on the tv again just to make sure nothing else is interfearing on the channel the RF modulator is sending on now.

An alternative if there is no adjustment on your RF modulator would be to change the frequenzy on your VCR or other devices attached to your TV that might send on the same frequenzy as your RF modulator.

Regards..

DVD to TV - can't connect. No inputs on the actual TV

You could buy a RF Modulator, into which you can Input the 3 cables (Video, Audio Right and audio Left) and the Modulator will make it into a single RF signal, which can be tuned by the TV. RF Modulators are generally set at UHF Channel 36 by Default. One of the easisst available is the Rabbit Ears Modulator, which "transmits' the signal wirelessly to the TV. Not more than 15-20$

Dvd player not connected properly to TV?

You might need one or both of:

RF modulator.
AV switch (perhaps from an old video game console)

The modulator accepts the RCA plugs from your DVD player (yellow, white, red) and outputs an RF signal.

You can then plug the ouput of the modulator into the aerial input of the skybox, via the switch, if desired.

ALL cable is digital.
What type of TV do you have? Does it have any scart conections on it? If not connect the Cable box with a scart lead to your VCR select the AV channel on your VCR, connect your VCR to your TV via the RF connection, (if it has not got one, its not a TV, its a monitor). Tune your TV in to the video channel.
You do not need an RF modulator for a home TV setup, whoever told you that is a fool.

Can't access AV Channel on Sony KV-C27TD

If the TV has no RCA inputs, then there is no "AV channel" option for it on any remote, just channel selection.

The purpose of a RCA to SCART converter (aka RF modulator) is to convert one of your channels to an A/V input. They operate (standard) on either channel 3 or 4 as selected by a switch on the converter.

If your converter is unpowered, it's entirely possible that the signal coming out is not good enough to overpower your antenna signal. In this case, you may need a powered unit (such as this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5806345&productCategoryId=abcat0107025&type=product&tab=7&id=1067388827858#productdetail) which can actively "shut off" the antenna input when signal is received from the auxiliary device.
