Can you not take full colour images as usual, then use your image editing software to create the effects you want ? By doing it that way, you will have far more control over the finished result.

That is correct the battery must be high grade to run the camera since current demands are higher than normal.

Remove the battert from the camera and charge the battery with the mains battery charger that came with the camers.
