SOURCE: Connect HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop to Panasonic Viera 42'' plasma

If you get your wallpaper to show on your TV, then you should be almost there.

  • Try to right-click somewhere in the desktop, choose "Properties" and go to the Settings tab. (Now you should be able to see both monitors.)
  • Click on the "Identify" tab to see which one is your TV.
  • See if "Extend my Windows Desktop onto this monitor" is checked.
  • Try to find a resolution that works with your TV by changing the values for the screen resolution.

SOURCE: VGA and Audio cables connected to PC but no audio through TV

if your tv has vga input there should be a "line in" input very near it. VGA can only get its audio source through a "line in" connecting to the coaxial audio inputs will apply the music stream to a different video input on your tv. your tv has video 1, video 2, vga, and so on, but the vga cannot show video and then audio from the video/audio coaxial inputs. you will need something like a dual male tipped 3.5mm audio connector.

SOURCE: connecting laptop to hd tv

IMake sure that you have the laptop for an VGA OUTPUT. When you toggle between the function keys. When your laptop LCD goes out it is in VGA OUT mode....when you toggle again it should be in LCD/VGA OUT (both TV and laptop should display). You need to set the TV to VGA mode as well...otherwise you might not get an output. If you still have a problem then test on a regular monitor to see if you are getting an output to the monitor

IF THIS HELPS PLEASE VOTE.....GOOD LUCK AND THANKS..

I have a toshiba satellite p755, it use to be able to hook up to my HD TV with the HDMI chord but now its not connecting..whats the problem?

Make sure all connections Power ,HDMI and any other connecting leads have secure dust free connections also check each lead for any kinks / bends .
Connecting a Toshiba Satellite Laptop to a TV is an ideal way to enjoy videos, photos and other media on the laptop on a much larger screen.
Satellite Laptops can be connected to TVs using VGA, S-Video and even HDMI, though the TV has to have compatible inputs as well.

Connect the RGB cable or S-video cable to an open input on the TV.
Depending on the type of TV, it may or may not have a RGB input.
S-video may have to be used instead.
Connect the 1/4 inch to RCA Y-cable into the TV using the same input as the VGA or S-video cable.
Connect the other end of the VGA or S-video cable and the audio cable into the laptop.
The video ports are on the sides of the laptop.
The audio cable should go into the headphone jack of the laptop.

Does my HP dv9449us has HDMI port? Can I connect it with my tv using this cable or what cables do I need? We have LG LCD tv.

Your laptop does not have a HDMI port. You only have VGA, you have to purchase a VGA to VGA cable VGA is video only interface. So you will need it along with the stereo audio cable
http://pctvcables.com/vga-with-audio-pc-to-tv-cables.html
Note that the stereo audio cable shoulb be connected from the headphones jack on your laptop to the headphones jack on you home theater system if you have one or buy this adapter plug the stereo audio cable coming from the laptop into it and connect it to the stereo audio in (red and white audio)of your tv

Can't figure out how to connect pc to video component to my Acer laptop

You shouldn't be using video component cables, instead you should be using a VGA cable and a 1/8". stereo audio cable. Your laptop and your TV should have a VGA port; it is D-shaped and has 15 pins over 3 rows. Next to your TV's VGA port should be an audio jack that you can hook up to your laptop's headphone jack. The cables be be bought at Radio Shack or any decent electronics/computer store.

I am trying to connect my acer 1640z with my tv (lcd) with a vga cable but there is no connection even when i press Fn + F6 buttons. What can i do?

make sure your TV is on the right channel. it will not connect automatically.
connecting a vga cable will only provide picture but no audio. you may need a male to male stereo cable and connect it to the laptop and the tv's stereo jack.

My Toshiba 55HT1U volume not working when playing games

I believe you have connected your computer to the tv? Please note that if you connected via VGA or DVI it is a video only signal. You will need a seperate cable for sound output . Connect the audio out jack of your computer to the headphones port of a tv using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm connector like this

What cables do i need to set my toshiba regza 46fx355 as a pc monitor i can get pic with vga but no sound

VGA is for carrying the video signal only. You will needa 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo plug to get sound output through the tv. Connect one end of the plug to the audio output port of the pc and the other end into the headphones jack on your tv and walla!
Here's the plug I am referring to. You can probably get one at your local computer store.

Try connecting the RCA cables to your TV's input jacks, make sure it says Audio input. Also, some TV's do not support audio in for VGA cables, if they do it's usually a 3.5mm jack labeled PC Audio or PC Speakers.

Can i hook my computer to tv ?

Hello

You can connect your Sylvania LC320ss8 to a computer. There is a socket at the back of your TV to connect it with a PC via VGA cable. One end of that cable must be connected to TV, and the other end of the VGA cable must be connected to PC's monitor out jack.. You have to purchase on VGA cable for this purpose, and is available at most of the electronic spare part shops. A "mini-plug audio cable" also is needed to connect the audio from PC to TV. Its one end to be connected to PCs Audio Line Out jack and its other end to TVs PC in audio jack. Both Jacks can be located at the back side of the TV. After connecting it select the TV to receive PC signals according to its manual says. OK.

How can i connect my advent qrc430 to a hd television

There are two options available with this laptop. Unfortunatley you will not be able to produce a High Definition picture, but nether the less it is possible to connect it to a HD TV.
The connections available are;
1x VGA - You will need a VGA Cable (as long as your HD TV has a VGA/PC input) cheapest found on Ebay. There is also a VGA to HDMI cable. Still wont be HD but an alternative to think about.

1x S-Video (TV-Out) - You will need a S-Video Cable (make sure HD TV has this input) also cheapest on Ebay.

Both of these options do not produce audio through them so for this you will need a 3.5mm audio jack to 3.5mm audio jack. Plug one end into your earphone socket on your laptop and the other end into your HD TV PC Audio in socket/Audio in socket. If you have a Cinema/surround system you will need a 3.5mm audio jack to stereo phono, as long as the surround system has an audio input.
