Tv doesn't connect though coaxial hook up

A year or so ago my tv stopped showing a picture with the coaxial cable. It will work and show a picture if I hook the cable up using a cable box through the HDMI plug. I tried hooking cable tv up through the 3 different audio video hook up from the cable box and out of the 3 video hook ups only 1 will show a picture but the audio doesn't work and the other 2 the audio works but the video doesn't work. I removed the video board and the scaler board. I checked the fuses with a ohm meter and I visually checked all the capicators

Sorry, I checked all the capacitors on all the boards. Everything looked ok. What should I check?

I just put the boards but into the tv and i reset and ran the tv through channel reprogramming and it only was able to detect only a few of the digital channels which mostly consists of music channels.

SOURCE: Hitachi 50V720 No sound with HDMI - no Component video inputs

Right now there seems to be many people with the same TV problems with sony and HDMI cables. Most of the solutions are resetting the TV and sony product. Try leaving your TV unplugged for a hour to let it reset itself.

Can't get "no signal" off

Hey cthaemar, it sounds like it may have been switched off the correct channel. If it is hooked up with a Coaxial cable it will be on channel 3 or 4, and if it is hooked up with an AV cable then it would be on one of the inputs.

If it's channel 3 or 4 try pressing the gray TV button on the remote and changing the channel. If that doesn't work you may need to use the TV's remote or the TV itself.

If it's on an input press the same gray TV button and then try pressing Input. With this you can also try the TV remote or the TV itself to change those if our remote doesn't change it.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

The TV model is Sanyo DP32648. DVR Cable Box - Motorola DCT6412 III I have a DVR cable box connected via an HDMI cable to the TV's HDMI 1 slot. I have had the TV for around a year now and haven't had...

If you have the DVR connected to the TV with the Coaxial and the HDMI that is probably causing the problem I work for a Cable company and have dealt with this problem on numerous occasions. Try just disconnecting the Coaxial cable from the cable box that should fix this issue.

CANNOT FIND CABLE CONNECTION FOR AKAI TV LCT42V6TN

They don't make a coaxial to RGB or Component adapter. I know they make a coaxial to RCA. If you go that route you would just connect the coaxial to the video. Now if you do this not sure as to what would happen with sound, if you would have it or not. It is possible but not sure. The adapter I am talking about is called a
UHF Female to RCA Male Coaxial Adapter. Which can be found at most Radio Shacks. If this doesn't work I would contact the cable company about a cable box that they could then run the coaxial to and then the RGB or Component cables to the TV.

Hope this helps.

I'm simply looking for the most efficient way to hook up my HD-TV with HDMI inputs to both my cable box (with HDMI inputs) and my DVD player/recorder so that I can record from the TV I watch.  ...

The way you have it hooked up right now will not work unless you have a coaxial out on your cable box going to the dvd recorder. Even then, picture quality will be severely degraded. The best way to do it is to leave your cable box hooked up to your TV via HDMI and connect your dvd recorder to your cable box via component video if your dvd recorder has a component video input. If it doesn't, then just use the composite video input. That way your picture quality will be better and you will still be able to record with the TV off.

Wavy lines and jogging TV picture

it could be any of the things you listed, the coaxial output on the dvr, where it says channels 3-4 out, the cable , or the coaxial input port on your tv. the dvd player is probably hooked up with rca cables (red white and yellow) so the reason you dont have the issue with it is because its on a different port, one solution would be to hook your receiver up to the tv using this kind of cable, this would also get you stereo sound, you would then watch dish network programming on a video input channel,
if you want to narrow the problem down, i would suggest hooking a vcr up with the cable thats connected to 3-4 out, play a tape and see if the issue continues, if not the issue is with the dvr, if so try a different coax cable, if this resolves the issue, the issue was the cable, if not unfortunately the issue is your tv
