This is a capacitor that has gone bad in the vertical delfection stage of the tv. it is an very easy and cheap fix if you know someone who knows how to solder and replace electronic components. If not then you'll just have to get another tv as taking it into a tv repair shop is not worth the cost. You could get another tv for what they will charge you to repair it,

Picture go into a thin line.

You have a thin horizontal line in the center of the TV. You, in this case have vertical IC that has bad grounds. Resolder the vertical IC pins and check the capacitors in the immediate area and replace these caps as necessary. If you still have a horizontal line, you will have to replace the vertical IC. Find a TV tech or someone with electronic experience to do this for you. Should be reasonable to fix. Thanks for asking and Good Luck!

SanyoTV-blk screen w/thin line of light across screen great sound

Your Vertical Amp is probably Blown (bad) , but before you change that check all capacitors around the vertical amp IC and / or resolder resistors and diodes around vertical amplifier.
And NO it is NOT the Picture Tube

Tv not working

this symptom, sometimes called the tube light effect, it is characterised by a bright thin horizontal line across the middle of the screen. this symptom is caused by a breakdown in the vertical deflection circuit. hence maybe the trouble maybe in the vertical oscillator, amplifier or output circuits. but if all i have said is not clear to you, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck!

Picture goes to one thin horizontal line in middle of screen

There is a bad solder connection in the vertical sweep circuit. if you know how toi solder, go and find the vertical output IC and resolder that first.. but if you have no solid state electronic repair experience, please find a trained tech to assist you in this repair, as if you wait it may end up costing you double of what it would now, so haveit done ASAP. Good Luck Please do not forget to rate this one.
