Thanks for the feedback Carol. Lost 400 files? Whew! If you have lost that much you seriously should consider re-formatteing your hard drive to make sure all traces of baddy have gone. You havent mentioned doing this, so I assume you haven't.

Here is a link to their website which describes how to manually remove the software from the hard drive. Let me know if it doesn't work and we can try some other options.

Welcome to Fixya
Sounds like the only option for you to have the PM 17 is thru purchasing the PM 17 disc. Your data are all saved usually in MY DOCUMENTS folder. You might need to back it up first before reinstalling the PM 17.
Thank you for using Fixya!

SOURCE: Trying to install Printmaster 15 for Windows 7.
Apparently no, it does support only Windows 98 / NT 4 / Me / XP. However, here is a thing you can try if a program cannot be run under Windows 7 because of compatibility issues, which is the case with Print Master Platinum 15. You right click on the executable file that will install the application and click Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check Windows XP SP3. If it installs do the same for the EXE file that will run the application. You can find more about this Compatibility issue on Microsoft website: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

Hi there! Let me see if I can try and help you. When you say your computer hangs up, do you mean that the install fails, or just seems to stay there? Does it come back with an error, or does your computer hang completely?
My first suggestion is that you try to upgrade to version 15 from version 11. When it's trying to install the fonts, unless something comes back as not responding, or your computer hangs up, be patient. Fonts are a lot of very small files that take a longer time to copy than just one big file. How long have you waited in the past?
If that doesn't work, I would uninstall all version of PrintMaster - if you come across any troubles, use the program found here to help uninstall - http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=4459&file=15&evp=fe1c76da3437592326a3d668d72bf8f5
Restart your computer afterwards and then before launching any other programs try and install version 15 from scratch. Get back to me with your results and the answers to my questions and I'll be here to help! Good Luck!

Hi Carol Steindorsson, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you.The 1st thing is to find out why your comp crashed, or it may do it again! Can you please add details in the comment box?
Actually, I had the Conduit Virus on over 400 files. Had to clean everything from my computer. Trying to re-install Printmaster Gold 15, and a box comes up re: autodisable, and install backs out.
Yes, Steve, my computer tech did re-format my hard drive. Now I am trying to re-load my software programs, but autodisable keeps coming up on Printmaster Gold 15, thereby stopping the install.
Carol, as far as I can see, Printmaster 15 is quite old and works in Windows 7 and Vista. Have you re-installed one of those versions? If not, what?
Yes, Big Steve, I have reinstalled Windows Vista.
I assume you are using an original legal disk? If so I think you will need to go to the Broderbund website and ask for support.
Yes, Big Steve, I am using my original legal disk. It worked fine on this computer until I had the Conduit virus and had my tech re-format my hard drive. I will now go to Broderbund and see what they have to say. Thanks so much for your time. Carol
