My otr microwave is about 10-15 years old Hotpoint counter saver. It suddenly stopped working the other day. It appears that all the controls are working and the power is on but things do not heat up in any mode. Do I need to get a new one?

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are: - bad door switches or door switch mounts If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose conneciton on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part

my microwave is only 2 yeas old and it just quit working one day. The timer still works just fine, but nothing cooks. It doesn't turn on at all when you hit start. Do I buy a new one or can this one be repaired without costing the same as a new one?
