I have an identical national tc 300 sp 3-in-1 unit. The power input for this set will automatically accept 120-220-240 VOLTS AC. The ac power pins in the 6-pin socket are the two horizontal pins immediately underneath the locating spiggot in the socket.

P1744 does not say the TC (Torque Converter) is stuck off, it means that the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) has detected excessive slip in the TC.

Refer to the section in the WSM (Workshop Service Manual) that is applicable for your transmission for diagnosis.

Usually it means that the TC hasn't been getting enough hydraulic pressure in the TC apply circuit to lock it and it slips. When it slips, the clutch surface in the TC is usually ruined.

You'll need to have the hydraulic concern repaired first, then replace the TC.
