D90 WARRANTY IS NIKON D90 KIT WITH 1-105MM LENS I BUY IN DUBAI HAVE WARRANTY?

Your lens is a cheaply-built kit lens intended to be sold as part of an initial body and lens kit.

It's not built badly or with especially poor quality materials, but it's certainly not to the same standard as their non-kit lens offerings and so is not as long-lasting or robust as regular Nikon lenses.

In your case, the focus drive mechanism has broken, possibly due to one of more motor pinion teeth being stripped. If the lens has not been dropped or otherwise misused and is still under warranty then return it to a Nikon service centre for a free repair. If outside of the warranty, then in most countries Nikon offer fixed price repairs, but you'll find it more economical to simply buy a replacement lens. What's failed is not suited to a DIY repair

You can commonly buy new ex-display examples and definitely fully-functional used examples of your lens for a less than the typical fixed repair price. As you don't state which country/stat you live in, I'm unable to provide example prices.

There are some issues with connectors between body and lens. But as I recently found there are USA version and made honkong or whatever.... But the USA model doesnt have that problem with detecting lenses! In some stores are different pricess for usa and imported cameras.
My advice is not to by kit lens, insted buy just body and some good quality lens!

I couldn't find a reference to a blinking green led when the d90 is off.

The lens has a plastic mount. Look closely at the rear of the lens, you may see that the tabs that hold it to the camera have broken off. You can get a replacement mount at UScamera.com or Nikon in California

I'm another very unhappy victim of the defective manufacturing and/or materials in this lens. My 18-105 DX VR lens lived in a padded camera bag when it wasn't on the camera. It's never been dropped, banged, dinged, or put under any stress. 10 months into ownership, with 50 months to go on the 5 year extended warranty, it simply came off in my hand one day while zooming. I was horrified to see a thin black plastic sliver inside the camera body -- the mount just broke off. Thankfully did not get behind the mirror or on the sensor. Greatest insult came from Nikon repair, who refused to honor the warranty because "the lens had been dropped" and asked me to pay nearly 1/3 the original cost of the lens for repairs. When I challenged this and pointed out the as-new condition of the lens, not even a scratch, they simply stopped responding to my emails and phone calls.

That's one of the differences between professional and amateur lenses. Of course, the cost is also different.
Similarly, amateur cameras have polycarbonate bodies while pro cameras have magnesium bodies.
