SOURCE: 4gb ram in foxconn n15235

Hello Jobedy

Everything I found pointed to this board being installed in a Packard Bell computer. One listing indicated the board supported up to 2GB of RAM. So, apparently, 4GB won't run on this system.

Your RAM DIMMs are fine. They're reading 1GB ea when inserted because that is the maximum supported per DIMM slot.

So, in the end, the issue is the limitation w/ your motherboard.

SOME HELPFUL INFORMATION:
When you're trying to find info or support on parts installed in an OEM computer (like a Packard Bell), you'll usually have much better luck searching or requesting support using the computer model no. in addition to the (for example) motherboard model no.

The reason is, (w/ respect to motherboards), most are special made by the original manufactuer for the computer manufacturer. They aren't usually going to be "off-the-shelf" motherboards for which documentation and support will be made readily available to the public.

Having the model no. of both the major assembly (computer) **and** the subassembly (motherboard) is the best combination to strike. :)

Hello, I have a dilemma. I have an ACER ASPIRE desktop. It is a AM1640-BD2160B. I am running Windows 7 with 2 GB of ram. My problem is one or both of DIMMS are bad but I CANNOT find replacements. I...

Before buying more ram, try cleaning the contacts of your original ram sticks.
The best way to do this is to use a pencil eraser until the copper contacts on the sticks are clean.
Make sure you wipe off the eraser filings and deposits with a clean cloth before re-installing the memory. Make sure you don't have any lint etc on the contacts after wiping them.
Never touch the contacts with your fingers.

Inspect your ram slots and check that there is no dust or anything else that shouldn't be there.
A blow of some compressed air in a tin normally is enough to get them clean if needed.

Install your ram, and I'm certain this will fix your problems, as it is very seldom I find ram actually faulty.

To make sure your ram is without any error, you can always run a test program called Memtest+86, download here:

Existing RAM is not recognised when I add new 1GB to free slot

it sounds to me that you have parallel port memory. This means that you have to have the same, ie both stick being 1gb, or 512mb. I just fixed my aunts pc and she was having the same problem . once I installed both 512 sticks it recognized both. ^_^ hope this helps. good day

HP Pavilion laptop freezes daily and i force manual shutdown

It sound's like there could be a compatibility problem, maybe corrupt file's, or missing start up file's, have you tried doing a window's update, or doing a disc check on the hard drive, go to my computer right click the drive then go to propertie's, click on tool's then click check now for drive error's. if that do'es not work you may need to reformat back to the original xp os.

Kt600 with 2, 1GB 3200 ddr ram sticks won't let win xp install, but with 1gb 3200 ddr ram, win xp installs

First put the stick you are having issues with in a different slot; If it still does not work download memtest86 and burn it to a cd and run it with only the RAM stick you are having issues with. Here is a link to the program http://www.memtest86.com/memtest34a.zip

Motherboard and ram..

DG965WH Board works well with 533 RAM, but is very finicky about 800, if you use 800, use only what is recomended.
I used kingston KVR533D2N4K2/2G with good luck on 4 motherboards.

You can try it, but watch for crashes and stabilty issues, if it has issues, remove it.
