Picture is red - Akai LCT2715 27 in. LCD Television

It indicates a short at the Red picture tube--set has three picture tubes and each has a socket which processes signal to each tube--each has a single IC chip---in your case either the chip on the red board or the red tube.

If a bright red screen the set will detect something is pulling way too much current and shut the set down for protection---called a shutdown circuit.......

yes u have bad picture tube but is not the green is the red , the red picture tube id over voltege , thats way u had red picture ,

Normal color picture is composed with 3 colors R-G-B (Red-Green-Blue). Picture turns Red means: Missing Green and Blue colors (many reasons: bad contacts, projector tubes dead, and other...). Try to give some "tabs" to diagnose ... I don't know what is the type of your Projection TV, how long you owned it, to have more idea.

the color in my tv is a little faded when theres dark scenes on cant really see picture. Red and Blue really fade into picture

Take it back to where you bought it and get them to replace it or fix it under the guarantee.

You could have a bad red picture tube.

Wally, 2 things can cause that, 1) bad solder on red driver transistor (mounted on Red picture tube board) 2) bad red cathode in the red tube which means big bucks (new tube), may not even be available on that old of a set. Hope this helps BMW Rider

Sounds like a loose connection in the convergance amp ic's

red screen is due to problem in red video circuit. please check 1 supply to red video ckt. 2 crt base loose. 3 components in red video ckt. 4 loose contact in red cathode ckt in crt base. 5 red video transistor. 6 signal coming to red video from signal processor. 7 signal processor ic. as per schematic check web site www.serviceinfo.com good luck.
