SOURCE: freezer not freezing

The evaporater is located in the freezer section of unit.Defrost thermostat is cliped on the top of it. This is no doubt the culprit. You will need to check continuity on defrost heater and replace themostat.

SOURCE: GE TFX20JR BK WW side by side won't cool or freeze

First point: The entire fridge is cooled by the freezer section. A fan blows air across to the food section.
2) Every 8 hours or so, a timer shuts off the compressor cycle, and starts up a heater to defrost the freezer coils. If the heater(s) are burnt out, or if the safety thermostat (to prevent overheating) is open, then you will have no defrost. The coils will frost up and eventually prevent airflow to the food section. Milk goes sour.
3) In rare circumstances, the timer itself can stall. This cause the same symptoms as above, but this is not as common as the other 2 causes of No Defrost.
Sequence: Check heater continuity. Check safety thermostat continuity while cold. Check defrost timer operation.
Hope this helps. I am a journeyman with 39 years exp. Happy New Year.

SOURCE: I left my refrigerator on during the winter months

as freezers are designed to operate from 10c to 35c,if the ambient temperature drops way below operating limits instead of freezing, the gas is actually warmer than outside and it will defrost rather than completely freeze solid.as soon as the lower limit (10c)is reached it will freeze again, unfortunately all the food is bad/unfit for humans/animals.although our local foxes love any food we put out.

How long and how to cook a 10 1/2 lb frozen semi-boneless turkey?

Thaw it before cooking then plan on 13 minutes of cooking time for every pound of turkey if roasting empty and 15 minute per pound if stuffed. Heat the oven to 450°F to preheat and then drop the temperature to 350°F when putting the turkey into the oven. The turkey is done when it registers a minimum of 165° in the deepest part of thigh.

How long does a 16lb turkey need to defrost in the refrigerator?

According to the USDA, when thawing your turkey in the refrigerator, you'll need to allow 24 hours for every four to five pounds. Don't bother with the math-here's a table: 4 to 12 pounds: 1-3 days. 12 to 16 pounds: 3-4 days.14 Aug 2012

Quick thaw a 20lb.turkey,and start cooking on the same day

No way!!! To quick thaw, set it in cold water in a deep pan and change the water every few hours--could still take 24 hours. Thawing a turkey in the refrigerator can take as long as a week.

We bought a 22lb turkey but I think we only have an XL fryer. The turkey almost fits but it is still frozen. Can we cook it in the XL fryer if it fits when it thaws.

Probably yes. It will more flexible and elongated when thawed and it likely will be smaller when you pull the neck and giblets from the body cavity allowing the ribcage room to collapse.

How to thaw a 20 lb turkery in refigeratores

Would need to know a bit more information.
1 Type of refrigerator (top freezer or side by side or bottom freezer)
2 How soon do you need turkey thawed

On 1

Top freezer type = place turkey on lowest shelve in a pan to catch water.
On Side by Side type = this will take the longest to thaw as it has a consistent temp through out.
On bottom freezer type - place turkey on highest shelf of refrigerator.
