The red power light comes on but nothing else works on my hitachi 53FDX01B PROJECTION TV

I can here a click when I turn it on and the power light comes but nothing else. Happened after power went out.

Silly question but have you tried turning it on with the remote. if a tv has been turned off by remote and then power goes, turning it on by the tv switch will put the tv back in stand-by mode and you need to use remote.

just a suggestion.

    I tried that with no luck.I took the back off and I can here a click when I turn it on and the DEF power supply led DP37 (red) comes on. Then I can here a slight tick and it goes off.

Nothing happens only power button lights or turns off
Count the number of flashes for the red power button. I'm not a Hitachi owner, but you can track one down here on fixya and they''ll give you more info. One of the internal components have failed and is keeping the power supply unit from firing up. Do you hear a relay click when you try to turn it on? If so, how many times does it try to fire up?

Hitachi rear projection TV clicks when you turn it on, no picture
No schematic, major short, usually the power supply or high voltage circuit, nothing you yourself can do. Pro repair about $450.00. If your in electronics replace the HV transistor first.. then??

Good Day;
Try resetting the TV by unplugging it from the wall. Plug back in after 5 minutes. If, no fix; call for An Authorized Service Center and have come out and give you an written estimate B4 repairs, most repairs on PJTV's avg $525.00. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Sound, but no picture
Had the same thing today. Iwas playing with the auto demonstration of on screen displays. Press and hold the power button (5 seconds) on the TV. The auto display will play. Press the power button again (TV will go off). Turn power on again. you should now have the picture back
