SOURCE: tempremental playing dvds

In response to your jvc-a75r DVD player, sometimes the solution might be less complex than it may appear. Had the same problem with my Samsung s321,the machine refused to read DVD's but would play CD's no problem. Simply opened up the cover(usually)4-6 small screws, and found my dog's hair inside of the player covering the laser eye.Electrostatic ionization attracts dust, etc. into the player remarkably well sometimes. Carefully used a cotton swap to remove debri. PLayerworked fine afterwards ...Good luck!

SOURCE: DVD trays are stuck

Since it is unusable try this. It might help to have so\meone assist if the unit is heavy.
Raise unit and lower the tray end about 45 degrees down, while lightly shaking press the tray open, they might just fall out.

SOURCE: Tray issues

I have had this a few times and it is a pain. You have to completely remove the DVD unit from the chassis (ribbon cables and all). Once out, you turn it upside down and you will see a set of gears that drives the trays in/out. Manually rotate the gears to reset the tray position (one will likely be out of place when you open it up or a DVD will be skewed causing it to bind). This is not for the faint of hearted or non-mechanically enclined. This particular DVD changer unit is troublesome and finicky to deal with. I have also found that copied DVD's cause this to occur due to some issues with disc detection.

SOURCE: my JVC TH-G30 gives me a locked message when I try

hello Setting the disc ejection lock
You can lock the disc tray to prevent the disc form
being ejected.
When the main unit is turned off, hold down the STOP
key at the front panel for 5 seconds
If you attempt to open the disc tray by pressing
OPEN/CLOSE key, the disc tray does not open and
“LOCKED” appears in the display window.
To cancel the disc ejection lock, hold down the STOP
key at the front panel for 5 seconds again when the
main unit is turned off.
“UNLOCKED” is displayed in the display window.
Note:
Before the main unit is turned off, DVD/CD function
should be selected.

It seems that the dvd player is jammed. Cant get dvds out or in. Wont play. Is there some kind of reset or something I can do to fix it. Thanks

its very common for 1 of those 5 trays to get stuck in the unit usually with a disc as well --you will have to manually go in while its unplugged elevate the tray by spinning 1 of the 2 large gears near the front of the mech and reseat the tray

My dvd player is locked

If you are unable to get the tray of the dvd player open either the player will have a hole in front for you to stick a (I use a straightened out paper clip) into and press in towards the dvd player. It will manually open the drive so you can retrieve your dvd or there will be enough of a lip on the tray door you can grab it and pull it open manually. Then I would try unplugging the player and waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in and you might get lucky and it may never happen again. Good luck . Hope it works.

I try to open my JVC TH-M508 DVD player & it comes up on the screen "locked". I assume the children have pushed something. I now would like to be able to unlock the player so we can change...

OK , use the remote and go for menu of DVD PLAYER , LOOK for SETTINGS , PARENTAL CONTROL , or PASSWORD , THEN WHERE it say locked , just click unlock , depending of model system , hope this helps & good luck AJ
